Our take

Flatiron Health is at the forefront of using data to transform cancer treatment. Since its founding in 2012, the company has developed advanced analytics that help healthcare organizations better understand and treat various types of cancer. And in 2018, Flatiron's innovative approach caught the attention of global pharmaceutical leader Roche, which acquired the company for $1.9B.

Data lies at the heart of Flatiron's operations, By capturing oncology data from multiple sources, the company's powerful analytics engine draws actionable insights, empowering healthcare providers to make more informed treatment decisions. This technology is helping to improve cancer care worldwide.

Although Flatiron is no longer a publicly traded company, its impact continues to grow under Roche's ownership. Roche's share price has steadily risen since the acquisition, and Flatiron has maintained momentum by expanding internationally and strengthening its leadership team. Despite a competitive landscape with companies like Paide, Live Better With, and Foundation Medicine, Flatiron's commitment to innovation keeps it ahead in the oncology field.
