- We’re looking for an entrepreneurial product leader who is passionate about advocating on behalf of users and driving business growth, demonstrates a high degree of ownership, and is looking to join a team with a clear mission and purpose
- 7+ years of experience as a product manager in a high-growth technology company, developing products that engage millions of consumers. At least 4 years of experience as a direct-to-consumer PM, including 2+ years in building, launching, and scaling zero-to-one products. 3+ years of high-quality startup experience is strongly preferred
- Proficiency in leveraging data, customer insights, user psychology, and first principles thinking to generate hypotheses, design experiments, test, and refine ideas. Strong UX and design sensibilities, with the ability to collaborate effectively with UX designers to deliver outstanding experiences
- Track record of not only building products but also successfully bringing them to market. Understanding of both paid and organic customer acquisition strategies, with experience collaborating closely with marketing teams
- Experience in optimizing conversion rates and ARPU within digital and sales funnels
- Strong analytical orientation with a focus on logical, data-driven decision-making and the ability to measure success effectively
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with diverse stakeholders in marketing, compliance, design, analytics, engineering, and sales, leading by influence towards a unified vision
- Unyielding drive to set and pursue ambitious goals, prioritize effectively, overcome obstacles, and execute efficiently
- Exceptional ownership mindset, capable of operating with a high degree of autonomy
- Ability to balance strategic big bets with tactical, incremental improvements, thinking at both the 10X and 10% levels
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a seasoned product manager to join our Consumer Product team. This team is responsible for building a delightful digital consumer experience, from onboarding users to helping them identify their families’ needs to purchasing the right insurance products to protect their families
- Build experiences that touch millions of online insurance shoppers. This is a very customer-focused role with the opportunity to deliver measurable and visible impact
- Own the user experience, from the top of the funnel through to the bottom. Use consumer insights and data to drive improvements to the user experience and conversion rates
- Educate consumers on the need for Life Insurance and help them purchase the right type and level of coverage to protect their families
- Improve conversion rates by removing unnecessary friction and motivating users to complete the application
- Take new insurance products (e.g. Indexed Universal Life, Whole Life) to market
- Build a great end to end experience anchored on accessibility, delight and simplicity
- Operate with ownership and have a high degree of autonomy. Ethos is a product first company, where Product Managers operate with autonomy and ownership

Ethos was founded to increase the transparency of life insurance, making it accessible and affordable to all. The company want to add openness to the process; losing a loved one is hard enough before one even considers financial implications, particularly with the loss of a primary earner.
Ethos uses predictive technology to rapidly quote life insurance rates and verify an applicant’s medical information. This expedited process allows most users to secure life cover on the same day they apply, a process which normally takes a number of weeks. The company works with some of the biggest providers in the industry, including Legal & General America, AAA Life and Ameritas Life Insurance Corp.
Ethos has been one of the more heavily publicised of the recent wave of insurtech companies, with investors such as Google as well as celebrities Will Smith and Jay Z, taking its valuation to over $2 billion. However, the sector is being hit particularly hard by macroeconomic uncertainty and Ethos conducted several rounds of layoffs through 2022 and early 2023. Now focused on its core product and revenue growth, it is poised to extend its market leading position.
