What the job involves

Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the AP Specialist will work within the Finance Team to establish and manage key procure-to-pay processes to ensure best-in-class support to operations and an accurate and timely weekly, monthly, and quarter-end accounting close
Process timely vendors invoices and manage payment proposals to key vendors and operators
Communicate with vendors to ensure proper application of Vendor Onboarding procedures and internally audit for W9 and required documentation
Maintain Corporate credit card program and ensure on time bookkeeping
Assist with bank reconciliations daily to support a 5-day end of month close
Prepare month-end and quarter-end accruals and adjustments as needed
Liaise with Operations team to ensure all estimated flight costs are properly accrued
Monitor operator & marketing contracts for compliance
Prepare weekly escrow analysis and set-up payment to/request payment from escrow account

BLADE is a carbon-neutral urban air transport provider working with partners to provide jet, seaplane, and SUV travel to the leisure, business, and medical markets. The company has partnered with Eve Urban Air Mobility Solutions to shift their air-taxi services onto electrical vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL) for all future flights, starting in 2026.

BLADE are long-standing participants in the air-taxi business, but eVTOL could prove a real gamechanger. With the likes of Boeing, Hyundai, and Toyota pouring investment into developing eVTOL vehicles, air taxi services look set to soon become an economically viable and attractive prospect.

A company that has the infrastructure in place to deploy these vehicles could stand to lead a pioneering new field. BLADE’s public merger with Experience Investment has helped it continue expanding in this direction. Post-IPO investment from RedBird Capital in 2023 will further bolster the company as it develops its brand and strengthens its core routes.
