Who you are
- Proven experience (~10 years) in public accounting and/or a corporate technical accounting role
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification is highly preferred
- Proficient in SOX compliance
- Knowledge of IFRS highly preferred
- Outstanding skills in writing accounting memos
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information in an understandable manner
What the job involves
- We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team in Austin, Texas. This role requires a deep understanding of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance.
- The candidate will be responsible for managing sophisticated accounting issues, writing technical issue memos, and ensuring compliance with a wide range of accounting standards
- Lead the evaluation of eBay's transaction against various US accounting standards including but not limited to: ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 705-20, ASC 280, ASC 350, ASC 450-20 ..
- Ensure compliance with SEC regulations, including Regulation S-X and S-K
- Handle documentation and reporting for SOX compliance
- Draft and review technical accounting memos addressing sophisticated transactions
- Provide training and mentorship on technical accounting matters to team members and other departments
- Communicate optimally with senior management, auditors, and external team members on technical accounting issues and findings
