Who you are
- Entrepreneurial mindset - previous experience as an early joiner in a technology startup or evidence that you are scrappy with a "get-it-done" attitude. - Strategic architectural & engineering design thinking and vision
- Ability to use product & business context to inform tradeoff decisions regarding work scoping, technical debt, and strategic investment. Knowing where to cut corners and where to excel
- 5+ years of experience as an engineer in an agile development environment
- Advanced mastery of technologies like TypeScript, React (hooks), Node.js, ES6
- Advanced mastery of cloud & web knowledge and concepts such as HTTP/S, cloud deployments and containers, SaaS integrations
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience
Desirable
- Experience at a B2B SaaS product startup. Even better: product-led startup or a product in cybersecurity/compliance realm
- Experience with our modern web application tech stack - Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript, Prisma, Postgres, Cypress, Jest
What the job involves
- Continuously improve our build and deploy processes to ensure fast, high quality, and secure delivery
- Monitor, manage, and optimize cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform
- Improve DevEx and existing CI/CD pipelines with additional test and security engineering mindset
- Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance the reliability and security of our systems
- Work closely with the founders and shape the future of our R&D center as an early engineer
- Help grow our platform to 1,000+ SaaS vendors, like LinkedIn and Instacart
Our take
Traditional manual compliance workflows are tedious, error-prone and extremely hard to scale, which presents special difficulties for rapidly growing companies in maintaining strong data security. Drata enables companies to manage compliance easily through automatic monitoring and evidence collection, building a single picture of risk across the company.
The company has several competitors offering compliance automation solutions, including Vanta and Secureframe, but Drata is unique in automating the tasks itself rather than generating notifications for teams to action. This approach has garnered Drata a client base of thousands of companies, including bambooHR, Notion and Abnormal.
Drata has grown swiftly since its 2020 founding and acquired trust automation company Safebase in 2025 for a staggering $250 million. Iconiq Growth and GGV Capital have led Drata's impressive funding rounds in previous years, but its aim now is to expand its presence. Through its acquisition of SafeBase, Drata has also gained its customers, among which are tech leaders such as Palantir, LinkedIn and OpenAI, which will undoubtedly help it maintain its leading edge.
