If you are passionate about building scalable, reliable applications and have a proven track record of handling complex projects, we’d love to hear from you
3+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer, with a focus on Node.js and PostgreSQL
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or alternative path
Proven experience in scaling beta-level projects into stable, high-performin enterprise-level applications
Strong proficiency in Node.js, with a deep understanding of backend framework and RESTful APIs
Experience with PostgreSQL database design, optimization, and management
Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, etc.)
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills across the full stack
Demonstrated ability to write high-quality, maintainable code with best practices
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Desirable

Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud platforms like AWS
Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks such as React.js or Vue.js
Experience with version control tools such as Git and GitHub

What the job involves

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for building and scaling high-performance web applications, with a focus on taking beta-level projects to enterprise-level code
You will be working on the backend with Node.js, managing databases with PostgreSQL, and collaborating with a dynamic team of engineers to deliver impactful solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and contribute to the growth of our software platform
Develop and maintain a robust Node.js backend to support dynamic web applications
Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to design and build features from conception to implementation
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code with a focus on scalability and performance
Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases to ensure smooth application functionality
Collaborate with teams to take beta-level software projects and refine them into enterprise-level code
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues across the full stack
Contribute to code reviews, testing, and documentation
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in full-stack development

Our take

To support the decarbonization of the construction industry, Fortera delivers a process that produces low to zero CO2 cement. This cement is suitable for a range of applications such as flooring, concrete and precast elements, meaning it could substitute traditional alternatives across the sector.

Put simply, Fortera's approach works by taking the CO2 formed in the heating step and recycling it into the product at a later stage. This means the CO2 normally released is instead captured, which is why it is a zero-carbon process.

It's certainly an intriguing concept, and inventors agree - with Fortera securing substantial funds across a number of rounds. It will use the latest investment to deploy its technology and manufacture the product at the market scale. Currently, its ReCarb plants are predicted to mineralize 165,000 tons of industrial CO2 annually.
