Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience as a data analyst
- Bachelors Degree
- A collaborative and supportive nature
- Very strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling
- Experience using modern analytics tool sets, including reporting and analytical tools
- Experience with data warehousing solutions and modern ETL tools (e.g., Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake)
- Exceptional communication skills
- Comfort in telling a clear and crisp story with presentations
- Experience with SaaS startup metrics a plus
What the job involves
- As a Sr. Data Analyst, you will be a critical member of a new team tasked with driving insights across the business
- You will have the opportunity to help shape a newly formed data and analytics function at BigPanda and help drive some of the most important business decisions at the company
- You will partner with other experts across the company, both on data questions and business impacts, to surface the right information and analysis for the right team or leaders
- Business Insights: Lead analysis that looks across the business, helping us understand how the business is performing, where there are opportunities or risks, and how best to address them
- Data Visualization: Build views and charts that are clear, informative, and automated when necessary. This includes things like executive dashboards and custom charts
Our take
Tech Unicorn BigPanda develops AI programmes to record and prevent corporate network outages through data analysis. Founded as an ad-tech company back in 2012, it originally had trouble maintaining its core services in a complex cloud environment, leading it to develop new software to help keep up with the rate of monitoring data.
As with the best tech companies, fixing internal problems resulted in happy accidents - new tools and products - and since receiving seed capital from Sequoia Capital in 2013, BigPanda has been a figurehead in the IT analytics industry.
Though there’s been a large increase in companies using AI for IT operations, BigPanda is still ahead of the competition, claiming to be the only AIOps company that focuses on bettering responses to IT outages and incidents specifically through event correlation and automation. With $110 million awarded in Series D and E funding in 2022, BigPanda is continuing to expand its operations, with little competition at its scale.
