Role
Who you are
- You are the ideal candidate if you are passionate about writing high-quality code and value ongoing communication and socialization of discoveries in a tight-knit community of engineers
- You are a motivated self-starter who excels in dynamic, fast-paced, and team-oriented environments
- 12+ years of software development experience with programming languages such as Go Lang, Python, and Java
- 3+ years of experience working in high-volume data applications and familiarity with data processing frameworks, such as kafka, Spark, Flink, etc
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
- Any level of experience with MLOps is a plus
- Experience in microservices architecture and REST
- Ability to produce logically structured, accurate, and clearly written materials
- Ability to communicate issues factually and openly
- Desire to actively share knowledge and information with other employees to enhance team productivity
- Bachelor’s of science in computer science or equivalent
What the job involves
- We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our Engineering team located in Burnaby, BC, reporting to the senior manager of Engineering
- In this role, you will design leading-edge, market-disrupting cybersecurity solutions in our fast-paced, high-functioning global environment
- You will specifically develop systems to distribute and manage large volumes of data used by governments and multinational corporations to defend their networks against cyberattack
- Develop deep mastery of assigned projects and associated technologies
- Lead complex software solutions design, development, and implementation, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability
- Implement core components and optimize selected code sets for enhanced performance
- Drive projects to completion, identify critical paths, and make sure teams are unblocked
- Provide technical guidance and mentor team members to follow best practices in software development
