Who you are

  • This role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in performance marketing channels, a data-driven mindset, and a passion for delivering measurable results
  • 6+ years of experience working as a Performance Marketing Manager, with a proven track record of driving customer acquisition and ideally some retention experience
  • Strong experience in running Google channels and understanding best practice to deliver growth across Search, Performance Max, Shopping, UAC
  • Experience with Apple Search and Affiliates is a plus
  • Experience setting up incrementality studies for performance media, ideally with a retail focused app
  • Excellent analytical skills, able to leverage data and metrics to drive performance improvement actions
  • Flawless execution and an ability to work with XFN partners to drive impact for the business
  • Ability to implement test & learn initiatives partnering with media partners and performance media agency
  • Strong understanding of media attribution inclusive of privacy challenges and technical initiatives to help solve

What the job involves

  • Gopuff is seeking an experienced Performance Marketer to join the Growth Marketing Team leading a range of performance media channels for Gopuff. This is an exciting new role with ample opportunity to shape the strategic and tactical framework for Gopuff to drive customer growth
  • This person will be responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing paid media strategies to drive user acquisition for Gopuff
  • You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our media efforts align with broader business goals and customer acquisition targets
  • Develop and Execute Acquisition Strategies: Design and implement comprehensive paid media campaigns across key channels including Google, Apple Search and Affiliates
  • Optimize Media Performance: Continuously monitor and analyze campaign performance, making data-driven decisions to optimize for key KPIs such as CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost) and ROAS (Return on Ad Spend
  • Budget Management: Oversee and manage the acquisition budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across channels to maximize ROI
  • Incrementality Testing and Experimentation: Partner with analytics to execute incrementality testing for acquisition efforts
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with analytics, creative, and growth teams to ensure alignment on campaign objectives, messaging, and user journey optimizations
  • Reporting and Insights: Prepare and present detailed reports on campaign performance, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership, highlighting successes and areas for improvement
  • Form Strong Partnerships: Work closely with external media partners to form a strong collaboration to drive the business forward

Our take

Gopuff was an early player in the last-mile delivery space, offering consumers access to a wide range of consumer goods (including food and alcohol) with delivery in ~30 minutes through its network of micro fulfillment centers, from which a fleet of drivers pick up and drop off orders.

Gopuff currently operates in over 1,000 cities and is adding more. The company has made several strategic acquisitions to charge its growth – including UKs Fancy and Dija, and US BevMo!. However, the company faces increased competition on all sides, from Getir (who recently acquired Gorillas), Glovo, and Zapp, as well as high operating costs.

The company has added a range of new capabilities to its platform, launching features to eliminate former pain points by including advance order scheduling, gifting, and in-store pickup. After abandoning plans to IPO in mid-2022, it is focusing back on profitability, though the company has faced some scrutiny over its methods and has had to search further afield for funding at a time when venture capital is scarce. Regardless, Gopuff is well set to remain a major player in the market.
