Who you are
- Familiar with high performance IO workloads
- Extensive filesystems system background - Experience with NFS, SMB and distributed parallel file systems
- Strong Linux OS knowledge
- Data Center networking understanding
- Experience with performance demonstrations and analysis
- Prior experience in working at a start-up company - an advantage
- Experience with running workloads in cloud hypervisors such as AWS, Azure, OCI or GCP
- Scripting abilities - an advantage
- Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills
- You have a deep understanding of AWS and it’s ecosystem
- You have relationships with customers and focus partners across the East
- You have experience building out new territories

Desirable
- 10+ years of IT Sales experience
- Passion and desire to work in a fast paced startup culture directly impacting the growth of the company
- Proven track record of effective selling through the marketplace
- Knowledge and experience in the AWS ecosystem
- 2+ years of field engagement with the AWS teams
- Knowledge of GCP, Azure, OCI operating models a plus
- Ability to drive Enablement and Alignment with the AWS teams
- Superb written and verbal communications skills

What the job involves
- The Bay Area regional Sales Engineer will join our rapidly growing sales organization. Being a WEKA Sales Engineer will require you to partner with customers, understanding their needs and requirements, helping them to leverage the value and performance that WEKA can provide to their business and applications
- Meet with customers and partners to educate them on the technical aspects of WEKA
- Assist with evaluations and system configurations
- Build and deliver technical product and architecture presentations and demos
- Become the advocate for WEKA customers and bring feedback back to the R&D and product management organizations
- Become a technical adviser to your customers and periodically review their status and inform on possible improvements
- Become an SME on WEKA and its ecosystem
- Contribute or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs
- Help in the creation and maintenance of Q&A’s, best practices, and other technical documentation
- This is a Hands-on position
- Sell WEKA on AWS via Marketplace
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of WEKA and the value to our customers
- Develop and execute against a strategic plan to create sales pipeline while acquiring new logos and maintaining positive ongoing relationships with customers
- Accelerate customer adoption through education and engagement
- Work with strategic and VAR partners to cultivate and manage joint selling opportunities
- Collaborate on and improve all aspects of the sales cycle, including product, support, and sales engineering
- Interface at many levels of WEKA senior management
Our take
Many studios and artists are struggling to get their products to market quickly enough, Often, the infrastructure they use is unintuitive and obstructs their work, instead of enhancing it. WEKA provides the Arch Platform, a machine learning/AI solution for managing cloud-based studios for content creation. It is already being used by major Hollywood studios and can take the post-production time from days to minutes.
The platform uses AWS to enable studios of any size to manage project permissions and access a virtual workstation, storage capabilities, and licensing servers. The company has brought everything together and offers support for both Windows and Linux, along with data encryption, backup and recovery, and cloud-bursting for companies that are taking off.
WEKA has a few notable competitors, such as RapidMiner which provides cloud storage and the ability to work on ETL processes, but has stood out thus far by being delivering the fastest file system on the market. The company has also raised considerable funding that will support its accelerated expansion, as well as launching a Sustainable AI Initiative that aims to draw attention to the rapid growth in global data center energy consumption and carbon emissions.
