  • A pragmatic, data-driven, and results-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • The ability to influence senior leadership and drive cross-functional alignment across diverse business and technical teams
  • A proven track record of successfully launching and scaling consumer products in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams, including hiring, mentoring, and developing top talent across both technical and business functions
  • The ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution, prioritizing effectively and delivering commitments on time
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a focus on driving accountability and operational excellence
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business or related field (MBA preferred)

If you are a strategic thinker, a strong operator, and a leader who delivers results, we’d love to hear from you!

What the job involves

  • Reporting to the Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations, this team is accountable for the successful launch of all Roku Players, Smart Home, and Remote products
  • Unlike traditional program management organizations, this group owns end-to-end execution across New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining product management, integrating Program Management, Quality, and Technical Operations with a strong focus on delivering results
  • We are seeking a dynamic Director of Operations Program Management to lead a team of senior, highly technical program managers
  • This leader will oversee multiple complex product initiatives, ensuring seamless cross-functional alignment across internal teams and external partners
  • The role involves managing engineering and operations deliverables, product launch planning, and post-launch optimization, all while ensuring products are delivered to market on schedule and meeting key business and quality metrics
  • This position also drives operational supply chain strategies, optimizing capabilities across global operations to align with business objectives
  • Given Roku’s pivotal role in a complex ecosystem—including hardware, software, retail, logistics, OEMs, content providers, and more—this leader must have a proven track record of successfully shipping consumer products and scaling businesses while exceeding customer expectations
  • Lead and own the successful launch of Roku’s new products, including Players, Smart Home devices, and Remotes
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration, bringing together senior leaders from Engineering, Product Management, Partner Management, Product Marketing, Communications, Supply Chain, Logistics, Customer Care, and Retail Sales to ensure on-time product delivery and post-launch success
  • Provide executive-level reporting, delivering a weekly summary of key decisions, risks, and action items to ensure leadership is informed and empowered to act. Host operations leadership forums to drive swift decision-making
  • Measure and optimize post-launch performance, gathering insights from Engineering, Customer Support, Social Media, Reviews, and Returns to ensure products meet or exceed business objectives. Ensure rapid response from teams to address any gaps
  • Scale product development operations, working closely with the broader operations team to develop scalable strategies as Roku’s product portfolio grows in both number and complexity. Continuously improve product development processes across the organization
  • Foster a high-performance culture, emphasizing data-driven decision-making, transparency, and collaboration to achieve operational and product excellence
  • Up to 15% travel requirement

Our take

According to Nielsen data, the average streamer spends over seven minutes searching for something to watch. Streaming services use customers' viewing history to make suggestions, but these are limited to programs licensed for that particular service.

Roku provides an integrated streaming service that offers TV channels, movies and third-party streaming services, resulting in an all-in-one streaming platform. The service can be accessed through a variety of customized subscription packages and fees.

Roku stands out in the streaming industry by bringing many competitors together in one package. The startup provides further innovative services such as a weekly TV series named 'Roku Recommends' which uses first-party data to recommend essential viewing to users. Alongside funding filmmakers through its "Change Makers Program", Roku also acquired its own original library of shows through its acquisition of now-defunct Quibi's library in 2021. After successful collaborations with TCL and Hisense, the first in-house "Roku Television" was released in 2023, further exemplifying the streaming company's wider ambitions in the media sector.
