Quality Assurance Analyst, O'Reilly Media

• Bachelor’s degree in a computer science, information technology or related technical field
• In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience will be considered
• 2+ years of software quality assurance experience or related product experience
• Quality Assurance Experience
• Possess a foundational understanding of software quality assurance principles, including basic testing methodologies such as functional, regression, and user acceptance testing
• Proven ability to balance business goals and user needs
• Understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices:
• Error validation
• Boundary conditions
• Performance considerations
• Accessibility evaluations
• Platform validation to ensure ensures that the software works correctly across various device, OS, and browser environments
• Ability to write test cases, execute test plans, and report bugs clearly and effectively
• Familiarity with fast-paced, iterative software development environments
• Exposure to Agile or Scrum development environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for detail
• Self-motivated and adaptable, able to thrive both independently and in collaborative settings
• Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

• In this highly collaborative role, you’ll work alongside engineers, designers, and product teams to define, test, and refine our digital products—championing user feedback and product quality at every step
• Design and execute test plans that align with system requirements to support a smooth and reliable user experience
• Perform QA testing on web and mobile platforms, including functional, integration, regression, performance, accessibility, and post-implementation testing
• Proactively identify, document, and track software defects—partnering with development teams to drive effective solutions and improvements
• Provide actionable feedback on usability, functionality, and overall quality to
• Product Managers and stakeholders
• Assist in analyzing reported software defects, serving as an escalation resource for support teams
• Monitor, track, and report on testing progress, coverage, and results
