Who you are

You have at least 2 years of experience in the UAS or regulatory sector
You have a university degree in Social Sciences, Law, History, Business Administration, Aerospace Engineer, or a safety related education
Strong English proficiency, written and spoken - Dutch and any other language is a plus
Passionate about the drone industry and making a positive impact

What the job involves

Support Avy with its pioneering mission to open the skies for life-saving drone flights
With your expertise on risk analysis and your talent for analytical thinking, you grow into understanding the drone ecosystem and help Avy to enable life-saving drone flights throughout Europe and Africa. As a Compliance officer in the Operations Team you will assist in daily and strategic tasks, among which:
Define, design and arrange approval for new types of operations with the SORA methodology
Support with, check & approve flight plans
Compare different drone regulations around the world
Conduct internal Audits
Fulltime job (32-40 hours per week)

Our take

Avy builds fixed-wing drones, which are a combination of a drone and an aeroplane that takes off and lands vertically, transitioning to forward flight and therefore enabling beyond visual line of sight delivery. The drones are fully autonomous, emission-free, and designed to blend into nature. They are currently used for urgent medical transport, supporting emergency services and nature protection reconnaissance.

Avy collaborated with Wattlab, a cleantech startup founded in 2017, to produce the solar drone. The technology within the drone can help serve as a stepping stone towards more sustainable developments in the aviation and transport sectors.

The first goal of Avy is to build a global response network that allows every country to deploy aircraft within minutes to support people with lifesaving needs. Its second goal is to become so experienced with sustainable, zero-emission and autonomous aviation, that it can build larger aircraft. If Avy succeeds in this mission, it will have an outsized influence on the larger aviation industry, forcing others to change and become sustainable in the process.
