Who you are
- This role is ideal for individuals with up to two years of experience, preferably from a trading firm or a data vendor, who are eager to engage in a diverse array of tasks, including administrative support, project management, and data management using basic Linux and Python skills
- 2-4 years of experience
- Proven experience in project management and business analysis, ideally within a trading firm or a data vendor environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Effective communication skills, capable of writing clear and informative updates and descriptions, and proficient at stakeholder management
- Basic technical skills in Linux, Python, and Excel
- A strong ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
What the job involves
- Hudson River Trading is seeking a Data Strategist to support both our data strategy and business development functions
- Project Management: Coordinate various projects, ensuring timely progress and meeting deadlines. Follow up on the status of data contracts and manage tracking of numerous incoming requests using issue tracking tools
- Data Management: Assist in maintaining accurate records in our databases, updating and managing the data catalog, and ensuring dataset descriptions are up-to-date and comprehensive
- Communication and Coordination: Monitor internal communication channels, such as Slack, to address and escalate issues from internal clients. Prepare detailed reports and recaps of project statuses, and proactively follow up on pending matters
- Research: Conduct research on topics relevant to data sourcing, data use cases, and general trading business activities, aiding strategic planning and operational efficiency
- Technical Proficiency: Utilize basic Linux and Python skills to manage and analyze data, and employ Excel for data manipulation and reporting
