What the job involves
- We’re hiring a VP of Sales to take a strong early GTM motion and scale it into a world-class revenue engine. Chalk already has traction with leading enterprise customers and a proven motion led by the founding team
- Your mandate is to build on that foundation—bringing structure, repeatability, and leadership to help us scale revenue, grow the team, and win key markets
- You'll report directly to the CEO and work closely with product, engineering, and marketing to drive strategic deals and build a sales org that thrives in complex, technical environments
- Take an early-stage GTM engine and professionalize it—refining process, defining KPIs, tightening forecasting, and codifying what’s working
- Define how we scale ARR, set the roadmap for growth, segment focus, team structure, and build pipeline
- Continue running high-value enterprise sales cycles yourself—especially in the near term. Lead by example with rigor, technical depth, and a sharp understanding of customer needs
- Hire, develop, and retain a top-tier sales team. Define roles, comp plans, onboarding, and performance management as we grow
- Partner with product, engineering, and marketing to sharpen our ICP, tighten feedback loops, and align roadmap with market signals
- Implement the right tools, reporting, and systems for a modern, data-driven sales org. Forecast with accuracy and coach with clarity
Our take
The applications of AI and machine learning are undeniable and vast. However, much of its existing infrastructure was built to support large and lengthy jobs, opposed to the real-time decisions required for the technology to be useful to sectors such as fintech, eCommerce, healthcare and insurance.
This is where Chalk steps in, supplying backbone infrastructure to support real-time AI and ML applications. Its data platform includes features such as a compute engine, an LLM toolchain and integrated monitoring - with applications including anti-fraud, risk assessment and predictive maintenance. Importantly, any data source can be integrated with the platform, meaning the real-time decisions can be made with real-time data.
It's certainly an intriguing proposal, and one that has seen the company net over $60M in funding (and grabbing itself a $500M valuation). It's most recent investment will be used to accelerate development of its platform, onboard new customers, and grow its engineering and go-to-market hubs in San Francisco and New York. Putting the company in a very tasty position for future success.
