Role
Who you are
- Has 5+ years of lifecycle marketing, CRM, or email marketing experience
- Has deep experience with HubSpot Marketing Hub
- Has a strong understanding of customer journeys, lifecycle automation, and segmentation
- Is experienced with building automated email workflows
- Knows how to use AI for efficiency, but also how to keep an authentic voice
- Is comfortable analyzing campaign performance and making data-driven decisions
- Has excellent written communication skills
- Has strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Can comfortably manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
- Is fluent in English
What the job involves
- We're looking for a Lifecycle Marketing Manager to own the customer journey across our products
- Email marketing will be your primary responsibility. You'll design onboarding experiences, lifecycle automations, segmentation strategies, nurture campaigns, and CRM systems that help customers understand our products, get more value from them, and stay with us longer
- You'll work across both sides of our business:
- Consumer products for digital nomads, expats, and long-term travelers
- Healthcare plans for globally distributed companies and their employees
- Today, many lifecycle initiatives are owned by different teams. Your mission is to bring them together into a thoughtful, data-informed customer journey that feels personal, timely, and genuinely helpful
- If you enjoy combining psychology, writing, analytics, automation, and experimentation, you'll have an enormous impact here
- Own our lifecycle marketing strategy across all products
- Build and optimize onboarding email journeys for new customers
- Manage recurring email communications, announcements, newsletters, and campaigns
- Create lifecycle automations, like sending content related to web pages visited, or reminding people to book a demo after a webinar
- Develop customer segmentation strategies inside HubSpot
- Maintain CRM health, email lists, preferences, suppression, and lifecycle stages
- Work with Product Marketing to launch new products and features through email
- Partner with Product, Design, Copywriting, and Marketing Operations to improve customer communications
- Analyze campaign performance and continuously improve open rates, click-through rates, conversions, and retention
- Identify opportunities throughout the customer journey where automation can improve the customer experience
- Help establish lifecycle marketing as a dedicated function at SafetyWing
Our take
SafetyWing is ambitiously setting out to build a global social safety net. Following the roll-out of their medical insurance products for digital nomads and remote teams, they’re working on adding a remote doctor consultation service, and plans are in the pipeline to develop a global retirement product.
Targeting the global community of remote workers, SafetyWing had a well-timed launch prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. As teams were forced into remote or hybrid set-ups, ‘workcations’ became normalised. By some reports, the US digital nomad community ballooned by 50% to nearly 11 million, and more countries green-lit ‘Digital Nomad Visas’. Many of these require travellers to maintain their own medical insurance. So SafetyWings’ offerings are likely to slot neatly into the growing market as it continues to open up.
The company operates across more than 180 countries, and there is relatively little competition in this space due to the complexities of the heavily regulated insurance industry. This complexity will continue to challenge SafetyWing when new rules are introduced. The company raised $8 million in 2021 and in 2024 expanded its health insurance offering for travellers.
