Role
Who you are
- 3+ years of engineering experience in professional software development
- Experience with Typescript or similar strongly typed languages
- Experience shipping UIs that are beautiful and efficient for users. You know what makes people flow and what hinders them
- Experience with React or other modern JS libraries/frameworks
- Quick learner. Many of us don’t come from a telecoms background, and there’s lots to pick up all the time
- Strategic thinker who measures value delivered instead of lines of code
- Self-starter who can work with ambiguity – you drive continuous improvement through iteration
Desirable
- Experience with setting up CI/CD pipelines and working with one or more public cloud providers (preferably AWS, but also Azure, GCP, etc.)
- Experience working in a start-up or scale-up environment

- As a Product Engineer, we want people who can collaborate with the team, make key design & implementation decisions and build great products.

- Take home technical assessment - we'll provide you with a starter repository and you'll be asked to implement a full stack feature using Typescript
- 90 minute onsite technical interview - you'll talk us through your assessment and we'll ask a bit more about your technical experience
- 30 minute onsite cultural interview - an opportunity to find out if we're aligned on our values

For the modern business, good fibre connection is as important as having electricity or office lighting - and that need is only growing. Enterprises need to have increased network capacity to both support the increasing complexity of digitally transformed business infrastructure, and accommodate the growing volume of digital engagement from clients and customers. Vorboss is a UK fibre network company hoping to provide precisely this.
Vorboss’ focus is on enterprise clients, which means the current roll-out of its network in London is a smart move. It’s the digital enterprise hub of the UK, so there’s a substantial market to capture. The only issue is, Vorboss will have to wrestle it from the hands of two major incumbents: Openreach, and Virgin Media’s own cable network.
Vorboss’ focus on enterprise is an exclusive one, however, so unlike these two major competitors it’s possible this new network can cling more closely to enterprise requirements. With its deployment still in progress, Vorboss’ success will remain to be seen - but with the UK in the midst of a fibre transition, it's the right time to be challenging the incumbents.
