Who you are

- You should be passionate, curious, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
- 4-7 years of experience as a Financial Analyst in a high-growth environment is required
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics is preferred
- Strong working knowledge of financial statements, with advanced financial modeling skills and experience maintaining a three-statement model
- Experience in detailed cash forecasting and planning preferred
- Prior experience with financial planning or ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite, Mosaic, etc), and a strong aptitude and interest in learning and understanding those data flows in order to structure and distill the reporting of that data is a plus
- Demonstrated proficiency in synthesizing data and presenting conclusions and recommendations to stakeholders
- Great at building trust and gaining support across the organization
- Direct, honest, and supportive in communications and takes ownership of the accuracy, reliability and relevance of your work
What the job involves
- Due to tremendous growth, we are expanding the team and are looking for an extraordinary Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Finance to join the team
- In this critical role, you will have an immediate impact while directly contributing to achieving our company’s growth goals and creating an accounting organization that will scale as our business rapidly grows
- Reporting to the VP, Corporate Finance & Controller, you will be a key contributor in analyzing, presenting and forecasting the financial and business performance of the company
- Analyze monthly, quarterly business results, KPIs, trends, and synthesize results to provide critical business insights to leadership
- Create what-if-analyses to assess the impact of new business opportunities on our business plan and long-term goals, providing insightful decision bases for senior management
- Connect results and key metrics to provide a detailed, but concise explanation around performance and forward-looking projections
- Assist with analytical tools and reporting to measure business results, key success metrics, and spend efficiency, leveraging existing infrastructure as appropriate and creating new capabilities as required
- Assist with the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
- Contribute to ad hoc FP&A projects and deliverables
- Prepare financials presentations for senior management team
Our take

Working populations suffer from wage and qualification inequalities, particularly among women, low-income families, and people of colour. Transfr was created to bridge the gap between work-based learning and classroom instruction so students can better develop their careers.
It is an immersive learning startup using virtual reality to simulate on-the-job training. Transfr leverages virtual reality to create simulations of manufacturing-plant shop floors or warehouses for training purposes. Transfr's solution has become even more relevant in recent years as an ongoing labour shortage has meant that employees in high-growth industries have to find new ways of reaching and rapidly upskilling promising new talent.
Because of this, virtual reality technologies are growing in popularity among employers and training providers. One of the biggest challenges for Transfr’s technology is the production costs of the VR simulations. However, Transfr is using the significant funding it has raised to reduce its production costs while simultaneously fine-tuning the quality and expanding the range of its simulations.
