Finance Assistant, Welcome to the Jungle (formerly Otta)

• We’re open to candidates who are looking for their first job (whether or not you’ve been to university), so long as the core skills can be demonstrated. Experience in a finance role is a plus
• Great analytical skills and experience with Excel/Sheets
• An interest in Finance. We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in working in this space and learning how a finance function works
• You pay exceptional attention to detail, and care about completing your work to a high standard
• You have a demonstrated ability to learn fast and can work autonomously. You can remove your own roadblocks, manage competing priorities and be decisive without having all the information

Desirable

• You’ll be part of our UK Finance function and will work closely with the team to ensure our data is accurate and financial information is produced to a high standard and in a timely manner
• Your day-to-day tasks will evolve as you become more established in your role and as the business scales, but the below should give you a good understanding of your initial work
• Bookkeeping - you will be responsible for processing all of our expenses through our expense management tool, Spendesk. You will need exceptional attention to detail to ensure that all of the expenses flowing through the business are coded to the correct account codes with the correct tax rates applied
• Invoicing - you will send out invoices to our customers when deals are closed by the Commercial team
• Collections - you will send reminders to our customers in case of late payments
• Paying suppliers - you will complete a supplier payment run on a weekly basis to ensure all of our supplier invoices are settled in a timely manner
• Payroll administration - you will assist with the preparation of the payroll for our UK team
• Month end account preparation - you will assist the Finance Manager with key month end tasks in order to prepare our monthly accounts in a timely manner

• Exploratory call with Ben (UK S&O Manager), to understand your motivations, experience to date, & answer any initial questions you have (30 mins)
• A short task to test your excel skills and other key skills for the role. We have worked hard to keep it as short as possible to be respectful of your time (45 mins)
• Skills interview with Megan (Finance Manager) to test your analytical skills and fit for the role (45 mins)
• Values interview with Sarah (Group FP&A Director) and Marine (Head of Talent Acquisition) to discuss what you might bring to the role, how you might embody our values, and any final questions from you (45 mins)
