What the job involves

Our AI Platform team is looking for a backend-focused Software Engineers who will join us in our mission to make LLMs more accessible and mainstream to the rest of our engineering teams
The team has already built and released some of the best legal industry large language models that extract and summarize data from documents our clients provide
This person will join a multi-disciplinary team of Data Scientists, Researchers and Software Engineers whose day-to-day work lies at the intersection of programming, LLM integration, and iterative experimentation
Spearhead the design, development and optimization of robust, scalable systems and infrastructure for deploying pioneering algorithms and systems based on large language models
Engage actively throughout the project lifecycle, taking full ownership from inception to deployment and subsequent iterations
Grow as an engineer by working with world-class peers on varied and high impact projects
Work with internal engineering customers to understand new requirements and address them in a scalable and efficient manner
Implement robust, maintainable, reusable code in a modern tech-stack including Python, Postgres, Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and other technologies

Our take

Every year, millions of personal injury cases in the US are resolved with only a small fraction going to trial, leaving many victims potentially under-compensated due to inaccurate settlement proposals. EvenUp aims to change this by leveraging AI technology to streamline the assessment of injury cases.

The AI tools evaluate raw case files, including medical and police records, creating tailored "demand packages" that present comprehensive compensation arguments. This improves lawyer performance and victim outcomes.

Despite concerns about AI bias and privacy, EvenUp has garnered significant investor interest, closing a funding round in 2024 that was one of the largest in the history of legal AI. Now valued at over $1 billion, it is investing in its team and introducing new techniques and products for personal injury and other legal areas.
