Role
Who you are
- 5+ years professional experience building production software (exceptional candidates with 4+ considered)
- Track record of owning systems end-to-end: you’ve built features across front-end and back-end, and you know how they connect
- Fluency in Python and SQL for building scalable back-end systems
- Strong ability with TypeScript/JavaScript and React/Next.js for shipping polished, performant front-end features
- Comfort balancing new feature work with refactoring: you leave code cleaner, more tested, and more maintainable than you found it
- Solid testing habits and CI/CD discipline; you see testing and design reviews as enablers of speed
Desirable
- Experience with data-intensive or high-throughput systems, or with LLM/AI productionisation
- Cloud ops on GCP (networking, IAM, security, cost awareness)
- Building APIs for B2B SaaS, or working with analytics/experimentation frameworks.
What the job involves
- Own software design and architecture decisions: from schemas and APIs to modularisation and system patterns. You’ll shape how we build as well as what we build
- Ship production code every week across the stack: Python services, data pipelines, APIs, and Next.js front-end features
- Work side-by-side with a small senior team and founders: whiteboard, design, hack, test, ship
- Build clean, usable UIs in Next.js/TypeScript that make complex modelling outputs understandable and actionable
- Invest in automated testing and CI/CD: improve quality and speed for both front-end and back-end code
- Hunt down bottlenecks: profile, optimise, and tune both back-end services and front-end performance
- Refactor and improve existing systems: pay down tech debt, strengthen design, and make the codebase more maintainable

- 3. Technical assessment (your choice): either a take-home coding test or in-person pair coding
- 4. Final in-person interview (~2 hours): Meet founders and rest of the team.
