Role
Who you are
- 6+ years of experience in product design, with a proven track record of operating at a senior level (e.g., Senior, Lead, or Principal) with experience mentoring other designers
- A basic understanding of crypto is required. You should have a foundational grasp of the space (e.g., how wallets or transactions work) and a curiosity to learn how to design for decentralized platforms
- A deep enthusiasm for sports. A genuine passion for sports betting or the mechanics of sports markets is highly desirable
- A compelling portfolio showcasing both exceptional, recent hands-on design work and your ability to lead complex projects. Your portfolio should reflect a high degree of visual craft and strategic thinking
- A "builder" mindset, with a track record of operating with autonomy and thriving in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
- Proven ability to lead projects that simplify highly complex concepts into delightfully simple and intuitive user experiences
- Expert proficiency in Figma and other modern design and prototyping tools
- AI-First Tooling: Demonstrated experience or high comfort working with AI coding tools and LLM workflows to prototype interactive interfaces rapidly
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and build consensus from the team level to the executive level
What the job involves
- We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Senior Product Designer to help shape the core user experience for our sportsbook platform
- This is a role for a high-craft practitioner who excels at executing complex, high-velocity consumer flows and collaborating closely with cross-functional peers
- You will contribute directly to our most impactful sportsbook initiatives, elevate our design quality, and help mentor team members by setting a high bar for product craft
- As a key part of this role, you will be the lead designer for our new sports betting platform 🎲
- This is a rare opportunity to re-envision how the traditional sports industry operates by building crypto-specific products to support these use cases
- Think of this as a unique opportunity to completely rebuild the consumer stack using crypto
- Many of these will be brand new experiences that will require a designer to push the boundaries of what is possible

- You'll bring a basic understanding of crypto and a proven track record of creating best-in-class consumer experiences
- This is a unique opportunity to build and shape a design function while staying deeply connected to the craft
- Applicants must submit a design portfolio showcasing exceptional hands-on design work and their ability to lead projects
- Act as the primary hands-on designer for our sports betting platform, helping translate unique protocol work and novel concepts into intuitive and engaging user experiences
- Define and drive the overall product design vision and strategy for our sports suite, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and user needs
- Lead the design of major features and contribute directly with hands-on work including user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes
- Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering leadership to align on roadmaps, prioritize efforts, and ensure a high-quality, cohesive user experience
- Elevate the team through mentorship, fostering a culture of excellence through direct feedback, design critiques, and sharing best practices in craft
- Establish and refine design processes (e.g., reviews, user research) that fit our fast-paced environment and empower the team to do their best work
- AI-Native Execution: We don't do slow, static Figma sign-offs. We operate completely AI-native, leveraging tools like Cursor and Claude Code to build, test, and ship high-fidelity functional prototypes at extreme velocity
Our take
The total volume traded in non-fungible tokens (NFTs) is well over $50 billion, and they have revolutionized the way that creators can monetize their work. Magic Eden supplies a platform for trading NFTs, that is distinct for its focus on gamers and the internet community. As well as functioning as a marketplace, which is the base capability of many competitors, it also employs vertical integration of NFTs within the games it hosts on its platform.
This unique focus has primed Magic Eden for huge success - it moved from launch to Unicorn status in just 9 months and achieved ICO funding of $45 million in 2023. Although there are much larger NFT marketplaces, such as the market-controlling OpenSea, Magic Eden's incorporation of the Ethereum blockchain into its program (it initially only used the smaller Solana) indicates that it may be set to take on its older, more established competitors.
