Role
Who you are
- 4+ years of experience in data science, data analytics, product analytics, or quantitative analysis
- Expert background in utilizing SQL/Python to extract, manipulate, and analyze datasets
- Work cross functionally to translate business problems into ones that can be solved and informed by experimentation and data analysis
- Experience with creating data visualizations to communicate metric performance
- Develop models of usage, user behavior & business behavior to make recommendations and influence the product roadmap
- Conduct A/B testing - design, execute, and analyze experiments to understand impact of product feature deployments and changes
- Ability to effectively communicate complex analyses and insights to non-technical audiences
Desirable
- Previous experience in data science, data analytics, or product analytics at a social or gaming company
- Have curiosity and apply analytical skills to dive deep into data to find key insights that impact the business
- Experience in stakeholder management, relationship building, and influencing senior audiences
- Adaptability, tendency toward simple, creative solutions, and ability to effectively prioritize work in a demanding and changing environment
What the job involves
- As a Senior Data Scientist on VRChat’s Data Team, you will play a key role in driving strategic product decisions and advancing our product roadmap across growth, user experience, creator, and economy verticals
- The ideal candidate will have a background in a technical field, will have experience working with large production data sets, and will have some experience delivering data products on a fast-paced team
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, and Marketing teams to scope, design, execute, measure, and improve the impact of product features and campaigns
- Conduct quantitative analysis, deliver insights, and influence product decision making through an understanding of user behavior and our platform ecosystem
- Design and monitor core metrics; perform root cause analysis to explain drivers
- Identify trends and opportunities to drive growth, retention, and monetization initiatives
- Create a healthy ecosystem for content creators, users, and consumers
- Design and analyze experiments to inform and influence product investments
- Acquire new data from various production systems and databases

When contemplating VR’s popularity, it cannot be denied that virtual realities enable freedom of self-expression, an attractive proposition perhaps for those who struggle with their identity and place in the real world.
VRChat is already widely accessible, as a PC and StemVR-compatible app that supports multiple VR devices such as Occulus, HTC Vive, Windows Mixed reality, and the Valve Index. 2021 funding has contributed to the development of a creator economy where creators earn financial rewards, as well as further expansion to more platforms. VRChat will continue to grow as pundits speculate on whether VR will be the future of social connection.
