Who you are
- The successful candidate will have a pragmatic approach to planning and design, and experience guiding data driven decision making
- Proven experience as a UX Designer or similar role
- Excellent understanding of UX methodology and processes
- Strong portfolio showcasing your design and development skills
- Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD
- Experience with responsive and adaptive design principles
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Understanding of front-end technologies including HTML/Blazor, CSS, and JavaScript
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices
What the job involves
- We’re looking for an experienced UX Designer to join our team at IMP. The principal UX Designer at IMP will work in partnership with product delivery squads to deliver intuitive and research backed workflows to our users
- Create and maintain the IMP design system (libraries, components and patterns) ensuring pragmatic reuse of existing assets
- Partner with product owners, and developers to create intuitive and visually appealing and usable user interfaces
- Enable rapid development by creating and driving adherence to the IMP design standard
- Ensure consistency and adherence to design guidelines and best practices
- Understand and address design goals using a data driven iterative approach to enhance user satisfaction including conducting user research and testing
- Refining designs in response to user evaluation
- Communicating designs
- Sketching, ideating, storyboarding, wireframing, and prototyping
- Maintain up to date knowledge of the latest UI/UX trends, techniques, and technologies
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to peers
- Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and improve designs including:
- Communicating the context of use
- Describing users’ goals, tasks, and the environment systems are used
- Creating and describing personas
- Developing users’ stories
- Agreeing UX design goals
- Analysing UX needs with stakeholders
- Analysing, and advocating for accessibility
Our take
IMP Software was an idea brought to life by founders Will Jordan and Dave Hall. They realised firsthand that Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) finance solutions were heavily directed toward schools and not the Trusts themselves. This was problematic as MATs are not simply collections of schools, but instead organisations with many moving parts.
The company has developed both budget management software and integrated curriculum & financial planning software. This enables clients to easily unify data, run multi-level reporting, and ensure the effective deployment of resources across a trust so they can build the best curriculum it can afford.
With this MAT-first approach, IMP Software has secured 300+ trusts and 4000+ schools (41% of market share) as clients, including the likes of Prince Regent Street Trust.
