Who you are
- We’re looking for someone who blends technical depth with presence and polish - someone who can command a (virtual or in-person) room, lead brilliant product demos, and drive enterprise decisions with confidence and clarity
- Team-first mentality: you care as much about lifting up your peers as you do about your own success
- 4+ years of experience in Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, or Data Consulting with enterprise clients
- Strong SQL fluency and a solid foundation in data modeling, pipelines, and cloud data architectures
- Experience with dbt, or a strong understanding of the modern data stack
- Experience delivering high-quality demos - and a passion for storytelling through product
- Public speaking or external-facing experience: you’re comfortable presenting to executives and roomfuls of practitioners
- Proactive ownership of the technical sale: you don’t wait to be told - you drive the process forward
- Growth mindset and ambition: you want to take this role and run with it
What the job involves
- We’re looking to hire a Solutions Architect to join our Field Engineering team - and lead the charge in Germany
- This isn’t a behind-the-scenes role. You’ll be the face of dbt Labs for some of our most strategic German and European customers. You’ll run technical discovery, deliver high-impact demos, and guide prospects from first interest to successful adoption
- Dbt Labs is expanding in EMEA, and Germany is a core strategic market, and the impact you make - with customers, community, and colleagues - will shape our future in the region. It’s a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing, high-performing team and grow into a public-facing data leader in Germany
- Become an expert in designing enterprise-grade data pipelines with dbt Cloud
- Own the full technical sales lifecycle for prospects and customers in Germany
- Deliver excellent demos that inspire confidence and show real-world value
- Build champions within enterprise data teams, helping them adopt and scale dbt
- Contribute to dbt’s voice in the German data ecosystem: speaking at industry events, webinars, and meetups
- Build close relationships with our Partners (including companies like Snowflake, Google, and Databricks) and enable them to adopt and implement dbt Cloud for their clients
- Work with Product to build and maintain the dbt Cloud enterprise roadmap
- Be a cultural cornerstone in our EMEA Field Engineering team: sharing ideas, giving feedback, raising the bar

Our take
In 2018, dbt Labs founder Tristan Handy was running an analytics company and created a data build tool (or ‘dbt’) to help transform data for analysis. Fast forward one year and dbt Labs was born, offering its tools to help companies everywhere transform their data workflows.
Raw data comes in myriad forms and dbt Labs’ software allows data specialists to manage the data transformation layer making its use for analysis much easier. It offers consulting services on top of the software, and has ridden a wave of companies embracing digital transformation more as their services and workplaces become more online.
Seen as the de facto standard for modern analytics engineering by many, it reached unicorn status within 2 years of launch and is focusing future efforts on expanding reach to more markets outside of the US. Its 2023 acquisition of Transform, an analytics engineering company, will aid in further developing its product's data transformation capabilities.
