Who you are
- Proven track record of success in-house at a high growth direct response B2C start-up. Fintech or Insuretech preferred
- A deep knowledge of the digital landscape across Paid Social. Meta / Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Search, Youtube, Display Ads, TV, CTV
- Ability to work autonomously, learn quickly, prioritize effectively, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment (ideally, experienced in startup companies)
- A minimum of 8 years of experience of direct response marketing experience with 5+ years managing performance Marketing campaigns at a high growth company where user acquisition was critical to the company’s growth
- Advanced MS Excel and ability to work effectively with business intelligence tools (ex. Tableau)
- Excited by the chance to both develop a marketing strategy and hands on optimization
- Experience with adtech and data teams to prioritize your platform and measurement needs
- Have a rigorous approach to testing, iterating, and implementing learnings
What the job involves
- As Principal, Acquisition Marketing at Ethos, you will own and be accountable for all performance management, budget, and tools across various paid ad platforms. Ethos is destined for big things and we are betting that you will take the initiative and contribute to our success! As a fast-growing startup, you will be working closely with colleagues across all teams and senior management
- Own the strategy, execution, and tracking of paid channels (e.g., programmatic, affiliates, influencers, social) to drive marketing performance in line with budget and goals
- Track performance on a weekly and monthly basis and make adjustments to improve target KPIs
- Partner with internal teams (e.g. Creative, Analytics, MarTech, Growth Product) to effectively drive all aspects of the channels you manage
- Manage client partner relationships
- Run analyses on channel performance and implement findings quickly
- Demonstrate thought leadership by conducting tests, developing, presenting test results, and making recommendations for new processes and strategic tactics
- Function as the expert across channels and stay up to date on industry/competitive trends and technologies, betas, and best practices

Ethos uses predictive technology to rapidly quote life insurance rates and verify an applicant’s medical information. This expedited process allows most users to secure life cover on the same day they apply, a process which normally takes a number of weeks. The company works with some of the biggest providers in the industry, including Legal & General America, AAA Life and Ameritas Life Insurance Corp.
Ethos has been one of the more heavily publicised of the recent wave of insurtech companies, with investors such as Google as well as celebrities Will Smith and Jay Z, taking its valuation to over $2 billion. However, the sector is being hit particularly hard by macroeconomic uncertainty and Ethos conducted several rounds of layoffs through 2022 and early 2023. Now focused on its core product and revenue growth, it is poised to extend its market leading position.
