- Strong communicator with a clear point of view — you can present to leadership, defend your work, and know when to acquiesce; you have strong opinions, loosely held
- Organized and systematic — you keep stakeholders informed without being asked, and you have a clear system for how you track progress and communicate plans
- B2C experience is a plus — understanding how to work with a large consumer audience is helpful, though strong product instincts and growth experience in any context can translate
- You naturally reach for AI in your work — at Babylist, every team uses AI daily; you use it to make your job more effective, not to showboat; you're already reaching for it to get answers yourself rather than waiting on someone else
What the job involves
- Babylist Money is a new line of business built on a simple insight: the families Babylist serves don't stop needing guidance after the registry is done. Early Investor — the team's first shipped product — gives parents a way to connect a college savings account to a child’s Babylist fund for loved ones to contribute directly. It launched in July 2026 and now the focus is growing it
- This PM will own the Early Investor product experience — defining the monetization strategy, driving top-of-funnel growth, and building the sticky product hooks that bring families back to Babylist long after the baby shower. The role sits within the Babylist Money org, reporting to the PM/GM leading the business on a growing team
- Own Early Investor end-to-end — take ideas from start to finish, define success metrics, ship, measure, and iterate without waiting to be told what comes next
- Drive top-of-funnel growth for Early Investor — identify the levers, run the experiments, report on outcomes with clarity, and keep going
- Identify and test monetization strategies beyond transaction fees — partnerships, physical products, integrated experiences — and build the case for what to prioritize
- Build sticky product features that give postpartum families a reason to come back to Babylist — think birthdays, college savings milestones, and seasonal moments
- Work daily alongside an engineering manager and a team of engineers as a true partner — if they fail, you fail, and vice versa
- Communicate wins, failures, and learnings to leadership in a structured, consistent way
- Early Investor is live and showing real signal — you're not starting from zero, you're accelerating something that's already working
- Babylist Money is early enough that your fingerprints will be on everything — the monetization model, the growth playbook, the product hooks that define what this becomes
- There's a clear path to something big — the team lead grew a comparable zero-to-one business to $60M; the ambition here is the same
- Leadership moves fast and expects the same, giving the team real autonomy to build the roadmap bottoms-up
Our take
Since its 2011 launch, Babylist has grown into one of the most highly rated baby registries in the US. The difference it offers is that it allows users to include products from any store in their registries. On top of this, the company’s model also focuses heavily on creating informational content, which allows it to generate ad revenue while building customer loyalty.
Originally scaled with fairly low venture funding, Babylist claims half of new parents in the US now use its services. This, given that the baby products industry is worth close to $90 billion, shows the company's immense growth and speaks to the impact it has made in the space.
Babylist has seen strong funding in the past, which has fuelled projects such as the launch of virtual showrooms and further expanded the company's presence. The company acquired Expectful, a health and wellness tool, in 2023 with the long-term vision of combining the two companies into a larger health and wellness media property that can help people navigate all aspects of parenthood from fertility to diapers.
