Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
- At least 6 years of experience with a strong background in machine learning, data science, and AI, and staying updated with industry trends
- Proven experience working with AI models and implementing AI solutions in real-world scenarios
- Proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages and familiarity with ML libraries
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective machine learning systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and a clear understanding of algorithmic design
- Natural leadership qualities, with the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills for articulating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in the food technology sector is a plus

- We are seeking a Generative AI (GenAI) Engineer with a strong engineering background and a passion for leveraging large language models (LLMs) like OpenAI, Claude, and others to build cutting-edge AI applications
- This role is pivotal in spearheading our AI initiatives and driving forward our strategic goals through the innovative use of AI technologies
- Serve as the subject matter expert in generative AI and large language models
- Lead the integration of LLMs into our products and services, identifying opportunities to enhance user experience and operational efficiency
- Mentor and educate cross-functional teams on best practices and methodologies for working with LLMs and GenAI technologies
- Design, develop, and deploy AI applications utilizing LLMs, ensuring they meet high standards of performance and reliability
- Leverage frameworks such as LangChain, CrewAI, and similar technologies to streamline and optimize AI development processes
- Continuously explore and evaluate emerging AI technologies, models, and trends to identify opportunities for innovation
- Actively participate in conferences, workshops, and networking events to stay informed about emerging technologies and market trends
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into AI solutions powered by LLMs
- Evaluate and compare different LLMs and GenAI technologies to determine the most suitable approach for specific projects
- Conduct in-depth research and analyses to recommend the most suitable AI models and technologies for specific projects
- Manage the full lifecycle of AI projects, from research and development to deployment and maintenance
- Ensure high standards of data quality and integrity
- Stay updated on industry trends and integrate new technologies to maintain CookUnity’s competitive edge
- Act as an ambassador for AI within the organization, advocating for its adoption and showcasing its potential impact
Our take
CookUnity is a meal subscription service which connects consumers with some of the country's best known chefs, including Esther Choi, Chris Ratel and Andy Mendez. Consumers can select from a menu of handcrafted meals that cater to a wide variety of palates and dietary preferences. Believing that healthy food fuels stronger communities, CookUnity contributes to an ongoing partnership and donation with the Food Bank For New York City.
The New York founded business hit the headlines for its upward trajectory in 2020, where it secured 15.5 million in funding and saw an expected boost not just in demand, but in the supply of top culinary talent at a time when restaurants were struggling.
While there’s a wide world of meal plan delivery services, CookUnity has a jump on much of the competition as it’s the first service that connects such eminent chefs directly with the customer. This has allowed it to expand across much of the US, and it now prepares over 10 million meals annually for its 50,000 subscribers.
With most of the urban US now covered by its service, CookUnity is moving into the next phase of its growth, expanding the range of sellers and food products on the platform, and has plans to offer family-sized portions, brekfast options and cooking classes using its existing physical and digital infrastructure. This will enable it to grow into an all-in-one meal subscription service over the coming years.
