Role
Who you are
- Has 10+ years experience and/or education in People and Culture focused roles
- Has 5+ years of direct Total Rewards experience with 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in a publicly traded company
- Demonstrates a proven track record of leading, growing, and mentoring a team of People professionals
- Is an expert in compensation and benefits design and program management with an operational mindset
- Holds experience with HRIS, applicant tracking, and other HR-related software, including experience managing and negotiating with third-party vendors
- Possesses a strategic commercial and fiscal mindset
- Has exceptional knowledge of Canadian employment law and government benefits and programs
- Is experienced in delivering training and education to diverse groups of people on technical concepts
- Loves to learn and grow. They’ve found (and keep looking for) ways to level up their skills in this field, whether that’s through formal education, gaining professional experience, or maybe even building their own business
What the job involves
- As the Director, Total Rewards and People Operations, you’ll be responsible for developing a professional total rewards function to assure market competitiveness, compliance and pay equity, best practices, and scalable processes, including base compensation, benefits, and incentives
- Reporting to the VP, People, you will oversee the People team’s tech stack assuring Thinkific is invested in the best systems for now and the future
- Your goal will be to organize and develop quality and compliant people operations practices supported through efficient HR tech solutions
- Lead the strategic design and delivery of rewards programs and initiatives (including base compensation, benefits, employee share programs, and other incentives), engaging with the external market to evaluate data, trends, and industry best practices to ensure the competitiveness of Thinkific’s rewards programs
- Develop the People tech strategy and ensure Thinkific has the right systems to deliver on its People strategy. Provide support and training for the People team on proper use and maintenance of systems
- Lead People reporting, data, and metrics by setting up systems and operations to capture our most important information and reproduce meaningful and insightful analytics
- Be responsible for information security and protection of employee information in accordance with privacy legislation
- Set up and maintain core People Operations policies and processes by focusing on self-service and automated processes, but also providing training and resources to enable top-notch People Business Partnership
