Role
Who you are
- 7+ years of experience in storage, networking and/or large scale distributed systems environments
- Experience implementing distributed and scalable algorithms and data structures
- Proven track record of managing development teams for at least 3-5 years
- 10+ years of experience in C/C++ system-level programming
- Extensive experience writing high-performance, testable, and maintainable code
- Strong familiarity with hardware architecture (e.g., CPU cache, multi-threading, hyper-threading, NUMA)
- Familiarity with storage systems, databases, or other infrastructure technologies
Desirable
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience
- Experience contributing to filesystem, database, or similar data storage-related projects, with exposure to open-source community practices
- Solid understanding of the Linux kernel, including performance implications of context switches, threads, memory allocations, page cache, etc
- Proficiency in Python or other modern scripting languages
- Hands-on experience in storage or related technical domains from current or previous roles

- Provide leadership and deep technical supervision to teams of engineers developing our distributed high scale cutting edge cluster
- Lead and mentor Team Leaders and Engineers to foster on time delivery, quality development, productivity, and efficiency
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including QA, product management, and support, in an agile environment
- Develop resource plans, schedules, and actively participate in cross-functional release and roadmap planning
- Engage in technical communication within the team and across other groups to ensure alignment and innovation
Our take
Many studios and artists are struggling to get their products to market quickly enough, Often, the infrastructure they use is unintuitive and obstructs their work, instead of enhancing it. WEKA provides the Arch Platform, a machine learning/AI solution for managing cloud-based studios for content creation. It is already being used by major Hollywood studios and can take the post-production time from days to minutes.
The platform uses AWS to enable studios of any size to manage project permissions and access a virtual workstation, storage capabilities, and licensing servers. The company has brought everything together and offers support for both Windows and Linux, along with data encryption, backup and recovery, and cloud-bursting for companies that are taking off.
WEKA has a few notable competitors, such as RapidMiner which provides cloud storage and the ability to work on ETL processes, but has stood out thus far by being delivering the fastest file system on the market. The company has also raised considerable funding that will support its accelerated expansion, as well as launching a Sustainable AI Initiative that aims to draw attention to the rapid growth in global data center energy consumption and carbon emissions.
