What the job involves
- Ontra is seeking a Senior Product Manager reporting to our GM of Insight on our Product Management team
- We’re looking for a customer-centric and collaborative product manager to lead a product development team through the research, build, launch, and scale phase of a critical new product that solves a real pain point for our most important customers
- Product Strategy Development: Collaborate with the GM and cross-functional teams to develop a strategic roadmap aimed at exceeding $25M in ARR within three years post-launch
- Product Evangelist: Lead and coordinate efforts across various departments, including engineering, marketing, and sales, to ensure cohesive product development and launch
- Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee all phases of the product's lifecycle, from initial concept through development to market introduction and scaling
- Team Building and Management: Lead a high-performing team to drive product excellence in a start-up environment supported by a larger entity
- Market Analysis and Insight: Conduct comprehensive market research and competitor analysis to inform product features and enhancements, ensuring market relevance and competitive edge
- Launch Execution: Plan and execute the launch strategy, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with customers needs and business goals
- Be the Expert: Be recognized as a market, competitive, customer, and business expert both within Ontra and in the industry
Our take
High-volume legal work can be a drag for large enterprises, who end up straining their internal resources or their bottom line as they outsource the work. Ontra (previously InCloudCounsel) slides in as a solution to this problem by pairing businesses with a network of freelance corporate lawyers to manage their routine legal work in a more cost-effective way.
In addition to enterprises, the company is an attractive proposition for lawyers who want a more flexible working life than Big Law can usually offer. Ontra attempts to avoid direct confrontation with Big Law by focusing more on routine work and document management tasks.
Following Ontra's healthy investment, the company has made some pretty big strategic moves - mainly driving product growth, onboarding top people onto its Board of Directors team and acquiring smaller companies like FundFormer and Captain to improve its product capabilities.
