Who you are
- BA/BS in business, strategy, finance, economics or related field; MBA and/or CFA designation preferred
- 12-15+ years of experience in roles in finance planning, strategy and business intelligence, consulting or market research
- Experience in gaming industry and/or is an advantage but not a must
- Experience in working on portfolio project and financial optimization gained in roles operating on junction of business leadership and project delivery, for example in portfolio optimization, business analysis and target setting
- Experience in value optimization in consumer businesses (e.g. marketing & sales)
- Data driven approach combined with robust judgement and objectivity
- Resilience under pressure including from senior stakeholders
- Self-starter, showing initiative and ability to work independently
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience in leading teams: passion for building effective, motivated and professional teams
- Strong work ethic and confidentiality a must
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross functional teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and working under time constraints
What the job involves
- Studio Business Group (SBG) is looking for Director, Commercial and Value Optimisation who will be responsible for value optimization across portfolio of SBG projects and setting financial goals and targets for titles and studio teams within overall SBG portfolio
- This will be executed taking into account top down SBG business financial targets, portfolio developments and value optimization analysis performed by the team led by this role
- This is a role that operates on the junction of SGB Leadership team, studio teams and various functions and requires individual with strong commercial mindset, influencing skills and value judgement as well as ability to operate in dynamic way under changing circumstances and constraints remaining resilient to various stakeholder expectations
- You will be leading a team whose role is to conduct commercial and value optimization analysis on projects and opportunities on areas such as sales optimization, marketing spend efficiency, opex optimization taking into account
- You will lead the team fostering collaboration across multiple finance and non-finance functions
- It is a high visibility and high-profile role that will be involved in decision making processes and therefore we are looking for candidate who will have sound gaming market understanding, strong financial judgement skills and ability to remain objective and resilient under stakeholder pressures
- Set/recommend to SBG LT financial targets for titles/studios to meet overall SBG financials targets, projects and studio team for revenue, opex and profitability as well as selected KPIs; this is for multiple processes such as project investment decisions, annual budgets and long term strategic plans
- Dynamically adjusting financial targets if material events occur that requires rebalancing under new constraints
- Ownership for short term and long term P&L value optimization for SBG projects ensuring efficient allocation of capital to maximize value under given constraints
- Leading team who performs commercial value optimization work such as marketing spend efficiency, price setting, sales optimization, business models analysis
- Collaborating closely with portfolio management team ensuring top down portfolio constraints are effectively translated into projects as well as with studio partnering groups ensuring targets are stretched but realistic
- Effectively collaborate with SBG and non-SBG partners ensuring right information, data and input is considered in value optimization
- Initiating and leading commercial review projects across specific projects or across portfolio or its subset (e.g. price elasticity analysis, marketing efficiency etc)
- Effectively influence stakeholders across multiple disciples from leadership team members to various functional teams
- Develop and present results and recommendation to decision making stakeholder in effective and influential way
- Build, coach and develop, motivate and team of commercial and value optimization professionals ensuring forecasting talent bench is developed, maintained and expanded
- Staying apprised of broader industry developments and key business metrics and industry trends and benchmarking analysis of the gaming industry
