Role
Who you are
- The ideal candidate has relevant experience in managing large-scale transformation and/or integration programs
- 5-7 years of experience navigating challenging and fast-paced environments, preferably at a top-tier management consulting firm or investment bank (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated track record of leading cross-functional projects or initiatives, ideally large-scale transformation or post-merger integration programs, involving multiple different stakeholders
- First-hand experience leading small, high-performing teams (1-3 team members)
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to translate them into actionable insights; experience in quantitative modeling and analysis is a plus
- Strong bias towards action and results-oriented mindset, with a strategic plan to achieve objectives
- Proficiency in use of G-Suite or MS-Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
What the job involves
- As a (Senior) Strategic Projects Manager in the CEO Office, you will work on an exciting variety of strategic and operational topics
- You will play an integral role within the CEO Office team, collaborating closely with sennder's Co-Founders, CEO and the entire Executive Team
- Reporting to the Chief of Staff to the CEO, this position offers a unique opportunity to gain a 360° view of high-growth company operations while actively contributing to addressing challenges alongside internal and external senior leaders
- Additionally, the role presents opportunities for future development within various departments (especially Strategy, Commercial or Finance teams)
- Drive the identification, conceptualization, and execution of key priorities, to advance sennder’s strategic objectives and cross-functional projects
- Collaborate closely with sennder’s CEO and Executive Team, delivering tangible results from project conception through to implementation
- Be a driving force in orchestrating the successful integration of sennder’s acquisitions, assuming end-to-end responsibility for high-quality and on-time delivery
- Serve as a liaison between the founders and various stakeholders inside and outside sennder (e.g. board members and investors), ensuring clear communication and alignment on priorities
- Support sennder’s executives in maximizing their efficiency by preparing key meetings, including board meetings and strategy offsites
- Assist in the development of business plans, financial models, pitch decks, and other strategic documents
- Conduct market analyses and competitive research to identify growth opportunities
Our take
The global freight industry is massive, with estimates of its size ranging from $8 trillion to $12 trillion annually. Freight forwarding — the process of organising how and where items will be shipped around the world, and specifically the technology that underpins that work — continues to be a huge area of the logistics market.
Sennder, a digital freight forwarder focused on transporting cargo around Europe, is working towards becoming one of the biggest players in the European market. Sennder's current strategy, following major funding, is to expand rapidly, building upon existing expansions including Cars&Cargo, Uber Freight Europe and Everoad.
Although it is one of the most well-funded of the freight forwarders, Sennder will face direct competition in Europe from the likes of Zencargo, as well as international pressure from international giants such as the US' Flexport. To keep them ahead in the market, Sennder must ensure it keeps on top of developing tech such as fleet management systems and the use of the blockchain to manage automation. As well as this, they must battle with an increasingly climate-conscious consumer base putting growing pressure on the logistics industry to cut down its environmental costs. Ensuring it keeps a balance between performance and innovation will be crucial to Sennder's success going forward.
