What the job involves

Reports to: Senior Director Product, Expert Research
The mission for this role is to revolutionize the way our customers engage with our expert transcripts – making sure the research documents are easy to discover, proactively pushed to customers, and quick to synthesize insights
You will empathize with our customers and identify highest priority pain points to investigate and define solutions with clarity and conviction
You will partner internally from discovery to release and iteration to deliver experiences our customers value
Engage with customers through interviews, surveys, and usability testing to understand their needs, pain points, and behaviors, validating product hypotheses, sparking innovation, and informing prioritization
Clearly define core problems and collaborate with designers and engineers to validate potential solutions based on strategic objectives, customer feedback, market analysis, and technical feasibility
Leverage deep product and competitive insights to inform key decisions, anticipate problems and proactively propose solutions
Demonstrate strong and persuasive communication skills, ensuring complex ideas are understood by cross-departmental partners, gaining alignment and buy-in to drive valuable impact
Manage the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch, including defining requirements, supporting development, testing, and release processes
Able to adjust and iterate quickly by proactively addressing challenges and mitigating potential issues to ensure project success

Manual research can be a serious pain: financial analysts spend hours every week searching through PDFs one keyword at a time, just to find a single usable insight. To remedy this, AlphaSense has built a smart search engine that slashes research time for analysts, using thousands of sources and a semantic indexing layer that can effectively query finance-specific language.

As a disruptor and market leader in this field, AlphaSense has few direct competitors, being most closely compared to Wolfram Alpha or LexisNexis. It helps that its tools are undoubtedly effective and valued by knowledge professionals: the company counts about 85% of the S&P 100 as customers and is trusted by J.P.Morgan, Microsoft, Credit Suisse and Google, among other major enterprises.

Having raised a large amount of funding over 2022 and 2023, AlphaSense has moved quickly to double down on its expansion in European markets, opening an office in Berlin to support this. With 2024 seeing investment from Singaporean EDBI, it has now set its sights on the Asia-Pacific region. As business intelligence will remain key for enterprises as they compete for market share, AlphaSense is well-placed for additional future growth.
