Who you are
- This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of complex data, modern AI capabilities, and real-world user problems—and who is excited by the challenge of building transformative products from the ground up
- A minimum of six (6) years of product management experience is required. Demonstrated track record of launching enterprise-grade or workflow-intensive software products
- A robust technical foundation, evidenced by a degree in computer science or engineering, or by substantial professional experience working closely with technical teams
- Proven ability to bridge engineering, data science, and product disciplines, translating system-level constraints and research insights into commercially viable, user-focused solutions
- Demonstrated experience managing technical roadmaps, architecture tradeoffs, and cross-functional dependencies in high-stakes product environments
- Excellent technical communication and fluency in technical artifacts such as APIs, data schemas, model evaluation reports, and system design documents
- Proven ability to translate ambiguous business challenges into structured, actionable product roadmaps and to drive their successful execution
- Exceptional communication skills, with the capacity to effectively collaborate across both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A strong sense of ownership, adaptability, and a continuous learning mindset
- Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Hands-on experience building or managing products with machine learning, NLP, or generative AI components, particularly LLMs and transformers
- Deep understanding of vector databases, semantic embeddings, document structure parsing (e.g., layoutLM), and information retrieval techniques
- Practical experience with data pipeline design, feature engineering, training data curation, model retraining triggers, and deployment automation (CI/CD for ML)
- Familiarity with evaluating AI systems at scale, including offline accuracy testing, online A/B testing, user feedback integration, and drift detection strategies
- Working knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, hybrid search architectures, and techniques for grounding LLMs in enterprise data
- Experience operationalizing HITL systems, reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), and prompt engineering best practices for production systems
What the job involves
- As Newfront continues its rapid growth, we are seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the development of AI-powered solutions at the core of our Employee Benefits platform.
- Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, this role is responsible for translating cutting-edge advancements in large language models (LLMs), natural language processing (NLP), and document intelligence into impactful, user-centric products.
- You will define and drive the product strategy and execution for AI initiatives across the platform, partnering closely with Design, Engineering, and Employee Benefits teammates to ship a modern dashboard that helps HR leaders manage their plans and vendors, identify areas for improvement, and engage with employees.
- You'll also craft an employee app that guides Newfront clients' employees through their benefits, helps them improve their health and wellbeing, and answers any questions.
- Architect and drive the execution of the product vision and long-term technical roadmap for AI-powered tools and end-to-end workflow automation, with a focus on enterprise-scale reliability, performance, and maintainability
- Lead the full product development lifecycle for advanced AI systems, including large language model (LLM) integration, document intelligence pipelines, semantic search engines, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures
- Work closely with engineering and data science to design and implement production-ready, scalable infrastructure for model training, fine-tuning, testing, versioning, and deployment
- Establish robust evaluation frameworks for AI components using both offline and live metrics, incorporating human-in-the-loop (HITL) feedback loops, active learning mechanisms, and custom benchmarking datasets
- Define technical product requirements that balance user impact, model performance, compute constraints, and system complexity. Collaborate with engineering to decompose ambiguous AI challenges into well-scoped, measurable tasks
- Translate insurance-specific workflows into modular, intelligent components, leveraging deep collaboration with service teams, claims, and operations experts to surface high-value automation and augmentation opportunities
- Continuously assess model drift, latency, accuracy, and usability metrics, ensuring that models in production meet business-critical SLAs and compliance standards
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and continuously iterate on product features based on real-world usage and customer feedback
- Maintain a strong awareness of trends and innovations in the rapidly evolving AI landscape, proactively evaluating opportunities and introducing new ideas and technologies to drive product differentiation and value

Newfront merged with ABD Insurance, a B2B insurance provider focusing on employee benefits and financial services programs. Together, they are working to write $2B in premiums annually and occupy a more significant slice of the business insurance market. Funding is being invested into both US expansion and building the modern platform for clients, insurance professionals, and trading partners.
