Who you are

We are looking for someone who likes a challenge, wants to embrace a DevOps culture and brings ideas around improved ways of working
We are also looking for someone who is a team player and can collaborate with different people of technical ability
Strong knowledge of Java and Spring frameworks
Proficiency in front-end development with React and TypeScript
Familiarity with automated testing frameworks
Proficient in using Gitlab for version control
Experience with Kibana for monitoring and troubleshooting
Knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Desirable

Experience with Automated Testing
Experience with Cloud technologies particularly AWS
Experience with DevOps tools and practices

What the job involves

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Full Stack Software Engineer to join one of many agile squads in the Insurance Retail family,
You will be working with a squad responsible for the delivery, maintenance, and support of several CDL products
You will be closely involved in projects to migrate some of those products to the cloud as well as providing support and feature enhancements adhering to a product delivery roadmap
This role is heavily back end loaded with the frontend component making up 20% of workload

The fact that it’s come so far suggests that it’s been able to stay ahead of the curve with the many market trends and tech advances since then.

CDL has grown organically without any capital investment, boasting a still growing employee headcount of over 600, and working with some of the UK’s most established insurance brands, which is a great reflection of the company’s standing.

It’s fair to say that although CDL may not be on a rapid growth trajectory like many younger, VC-funded startups in the insurtech space, it’s stable position would be enviable to most.
