Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field, or advanced experience
- Active CPA
- Accounting/Audit firm experience preferred
- 4+ years of experience in accounting roles
- Proven ability to leverage AI and automation tools to drive process efficiencies, data analysis, and workflow improvements
- Strong understanding of revenue accounting rules under ASC 606
- Experience working with revenue related systems such as billing systems, ERP, and revenue recognition tool / subledger
- Revenue accounting for SaaS revenue recognition and understanding of multi-element arrangements
- Ability to work effectively with various departments, particularly Sales
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Flexibility to work under time constraints and deadlines
- Must be meticulous, detail oriented, and organized
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, yet cooperatively and constructively in a team environment
- Highly proficient in advanced MS Excel
What the job involves
- The Senior Revenue Accountant’s primary responsibility is ensuring the Company’s revenue recognition is in compliance with US GAAP and Company policies, while leaning heavily into AI-driven automation to enhance process efficiency and scalability
- The role is both advisory and operational in nature, helping business partners make informed decisions while managing complex accounting processes—including token-based usage and evolving AI-related revenue streams—through the adoption of innovative, automated tools
- Participates in accounting close activities, including:
- Leverage AI and automation tools to streamline close processes (ie flux analysis automation, enhancing reconciliations, automating large datasets)
- Partnering with other teams (legal, sales, etc.) to interpret, research, discuss, and / or process deal reviews
- Complete contract accounting of executed customer contracts
- Preparation / review of journal entries
- Preparation / review of reconciliations and related financial analysis for management and external reporting
- Participates in Company-wide AI driven initiatives and cross-functional projects that directly impact or relate to the revenue accounting area, particularly increasing the revenue analytical capabilities
- Proactively identify and implement AI-driven automation solutions to transform revenue accounting workflows, prioritizing process efficiency, scalability, and reduction of manual effort
- Adopt a "clean sheet" methodology to evaluate operational processes, specifically leveraging generative AI and advanced automation tools to streamline complex tasks and enhance overall accuracy
- Stay current on the latest financial accounting and reporting developments and U.S GAAP reporting requirements, as applicable
- Mentors and supports junior members of the team and provides feedback
- Communicates any problems to senior management timely
- Present findings and solutions to the management team, while considering global impacts and subsequent guidance to influence other regions where appropriate to adopt a consistent process and policy
- Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Prepares schedules in support of the external audit process while also utilizing AI capabilities to streamline any workbooks
- Coordinates with the auditors on accounting issues and audit related queries
- Reviews and maintains controls as the business environment changes as a result of process, system and policy enhancements. Includes risk assessment and review of risk areas
