Role
Who you are
- We are looking for a developer that has a knack for quickly understanding distributed systems, then dives in and creates features that will drive bottom-line value for the business
- 5+ years of experience in a software engineering role building products, ideally in a fast-paced environment
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or related technical degree
- Experience working with large enterprise applications and platforms with high availability requirements
- Proficiency with web-based technologies such as Javascript, React, Typescript, and web frameworks such as Remix or NextJS
- Ability to empathize with end-users, to turn needs into features, and to balance user experience with engineering constraints
- U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data
Desirable
- We encourage people from all backgrounds to apply but our tech stack uses AWS, Typescript, and React/Remix so familiarity with all of these tools and languages would be useful
- Experience in hyper growth startup-like environments, with demonstrated successes in scaling and maturing software development processes, team culture and methods, and ability to balance short-term and long-term trade offs
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance
What the job involves
- We are looking for Senior Software Engineers to join our Internal Tools team
- As a Senior Software Engineer on Anduril’s Internal Tools team you will be architecting and implementing mission-critical applications that enforce lean business process, add multiplicative leverage to Anduril employees, and scale Anduril into a next-generation defense prime
- As a member of the internal tools team you will be an integral part of building out Forge, Anduril’s custom supply chain, manufacturing, and deployment mission execution software. Your decisions today will have a large impact on the company today and into the future
- Work in a mini-startup environment to create elegant SaaS or on-premise solutions that are better than what current market solutions can offer
- Level up our team’s applications through quality code contribution
- Have an area of deep expertise in a portion of the full stack (i.e. backend, frontend, integration)
- Work with a high-functioning team of developers with an emphasis on finishing business-critical projects
- Automate company operations to drive bottom-line dollar savings
Our take
Anduril makes hardware and software for defense agencies including the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security. Its hardware products include specialist drones with a long flight time and surveillance towers.
This hardware is tied together by proprietary software, the Lattice platform, which uses sensor fusion, machine learning, and mesh networking to integrate real-time data from Anduril hardware and third-party systems into a single, autonomous operating picture. While the hardware observes and detects, the software can make decisions as to the threat level of any anomalies, and so allow for observation and protection of an area or building with minimal manpower.
Anduril closed a Series E funding round in 2022 led by Valor Equity Partners. This funding was used for research and development of its autonomous defense products, such as the Roadrunner, a modular twin-jet powered autonomous vehicle that can take off and land vertically. Variants of the Roadrunner include defensive warhead armed interceptors which are the first drone weapons that can be retrieved after deployment. The company has also expanded to Australia where it is working in tandem with the Australian Defence Force to improve its military technology and infrastructure and is recruiting talent worldwide to support its rapidly growing portfolio of defense projects.
