Privacy and Commercial Counsel, xAI

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent degree from an accredited law school
• License or qualification to practice law in Ireland (bonus for UK too)
• 4+ years of privacy experience
• 4+ years of product counseling and/or commercial transactional experience
• CIPP/E required, CIPP/US is useful to have
• 6+ years of combined legal experience at an innovative technology company and a top law firm
• In-house experience at a Business-to-Consumer or Business-to-Business company

Desirable

• Lead xAI’s European privacy and data protection functions, including operations subject to GDPR and the EU AI Act
• Negotiate and handle privacy and commercial agreements with customers, vendors, suppliers, and partners
• Interact with privacy regulatory authorities
• Partner closely with technical, product, procurement, and commercial teams to implement privacy-by-design and counsel on privacy, product, and commercial matters
• Create processes for efficient and scalable privacy and commercial operations
• Ability and desire to be a swiss army knife: pitch in for anything needed in the legal department, even if it’s unfamiliar or not in your lane
• Lead the European data protection and privacy efforts, and rise to the level of responsibility of which you’re capable!
• Workload varies depending on operational needs; flexibility is required
