What the job involves

Sales Engineers play a vital role in uncovering the true business problems of our prospects and customers and designing solutions to solve their problems
We are customer-obsessed, pre-sales technical advisors who help customers unlock the full value of the Plaid products and network
We take pride in delivering customer value as well as revenue outcomes for Plaid
You’ll work closely with our SMB Sales team as the technical lead during the pre-sales process
You will be responsible for partnering with Account Executives, proactively pushing deals forward by overcoming technical objections and building solutions around Plaid products
You will ensure a successful transition to the post-sale stage of the customer lifecycle and partner with account teams to drive adoption of new products by existing customers
You will be expected to understand the Fintech ecosystem and how customers get value from Plaid
Serve as the lead technical product lead for SMB accounts throughout the sales process
Partner with Account Executives to demonstrate to prospects how Plaid can solve their problems, address their use cases and meet their technical requirements. You’ll design solutions and share best practices throughout the sales process
Work with our engineering, product and design teams to translate prospect feedback into meaningful product insights

Our take

Plaid builds infrastructure that allows consumers to interact with their bank account on the web through a number of third-party applications, like Venmo, Robinhood, Coinbase, Acorns and LendingClub.

Plaid has integrated with over 12,000 financial institutions in the US, Canada, the UK and Europe. And about a quarter of people living in North America with bank accounts have linked with Plaid through at least one of the hundreds of apps that leverage Plaid’s application program interfaces (APIs).

The platform allows companies to create financial services applications without having to hire their own team of engineers to build out a tool that connects apps to its users’ bank accounts. This is very valuable in a world where there are increasing number of fintechs, so the demand for Plaid's services are only going to grow.
