Role
Who you are
- Specifically, you will be responsible for supporting monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing and reporting activities
- Working with external accountants on local compliance, payroll, and tax filings (NL, UK, and US)
- Assisting in preparing consolidated financial statements and investor reporting
- Maintaining accounting records and reconciliations across multiple entities
- Preparing and reviewing payment runs, including payroll support
- Helping coordinate audits (statutory, group, and ISAE 3402)
- Project-based and scaling work:
- Contributing to the rollout of new tooling (e.g. spend management, forecasting, accounting software migration)
- Supporting the US entity setup and ongoing financial operations
- Helping to define internal controls and best practices as the company prepares for further audits and funding rounds
- Collaborating cross-functionally with HR, Legal, Product, Data Engineering and Security on financial controls and compliance (SOC2, ISAE 3402)
- You have a solid foundation in accounting or financial operations, eager to learn, grow and take on new challenges in a fast-paced, international environment
- You’ll be a great fit if you have 3+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or audit (Big 4 experience is a plus)
- Hold a masters degree (or similar) in finance or accounting
- Have a foundational knowledge of accounting principles (Dutch GAAP and/or IFRS)
- Are curious, hands-on, and eager to grow into a broader finance role
- Are organised and detail-oriented, with strong Excel and/or tooling skills
- Are a confident communicator, fluent in English, and comfortable working with international teams and external advisors
- Have a proactive mindset and enjoy improving processes and building efficient structures (first make it work, then make it better)
What the job involves
- We are looking for a proactive and ambitious Financial Controller to join our growing team in Amsterdam. This is a unique opportunity to take on a broad role in shaping and scaling the finance function at Silverflow, a fast-growing international payments processing company with entities in the Netherlands, UK, and US
- Since our successful Series A, we’ve completed our first group audit and are now gearing up for international expansion, a new ISAE 3402 audit, and potential finance system upgrades. As part of our finance team, you will gain hands-on experience across a wide range of financial operations, contributing directly to the growth of our global business. You will work closely with our Finance Lead and CFO, learning from experienced leaders while taking ownership of your own projects and responsibilities
- You will be a key contributor within our finance team, the central hub for how money moves through the company. We look after financial operations, reporting, monthly investor updates and support teams across the company with budgeting, pricing and client needs.
- This is a chance to go beyond the traditional finance tasks and gain exposure to product, data, and operations within a dynamic fintech company. Our take
Silverflow is addressing the longstanding challenge of outdated backend processing systems in the payment industry. While notable disruptors like Adyen, Stripe, and PayPal have transformed the front end, offering merchants user-friendly and innovative solutions, the backend infrastructure has largely remained rooted in technology from the past. This gap prompted Silverflow's founders to envision a new approach.
Silverflow's solution is to offer offering a singular API to connect seamlessly with card networks, reducing both the cost and complexity of payments processing for its clients. The platform, which is designed for ease-of-use and enriched with valuable data, allows both legacy and new players alike to innovate their processing approach for more secure and efficient payments.
A recent infusion of capital reflects the confidence in Silverflow's vision and the potential impact of its solution. The funding will be instrumental in accelerating the company's global expansion plans, building on its successful entry into the US and APAC markets in early 2023. Silverflow is well-positioned to further disrupt the payment processing market and establish itself as a category leader.
