Role
Who you are
- You are currently completing a JD degree at an ABA accredited law school
- You have experience or interest in healthcare technology, intellectual property, commercial agreements, product development, data privacy, regulatory law, and compliance
- You are able to work proactively and collaboratively
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Familiarity with or ability to quickly learn software technologies such as Google Suite, Zoom, Slack, HubSpot, Asana, etc
What the job involves
- As our 2025 Legal Intern you will support key strategic and legal priorities under the guidance of our legal team
- You will have the opportunity to conduct research on complex topics at the intersection of health and social care, develop relationships with internal stakeholders to understand and advise on cross-functional opportunities, and provide clear and actionable guidance to team leads
- You will also have the opportunity to participate in in-depth training to learn more about the role of an in-house legal and compliance team, including training on drafting and negotiating standard commercial agreements, managing compliance matters, conducting corporate and commercial due diligence, and engaging in regulatory research and writing
- This is an 8-week summer internship class, starting on 9/2 or 9/8
- Research best practices and conduct research on various legal questions at the intersection of health and social care
- Review commercial agreements including non-disclosure agreements, master cloud services agreements, and vendor agreements
- Conduct research and prepare and deliver presentations for team leads
- Develop and update training materials and other documentation on legal and regulatory matters
- Participate in regular meetings with the Unite Us Legal and Compliance team
