Who you are

Security Expertise: 7+ years of experience in security, ideally at scaled companies (500+ employees)
Product Sense: You have strong opinions about security products and may have contributed to product development in the past
Cloud and DevOps: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) and experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines
Deep Technical Skills: E.g. you've worked as a Security Engineer, Red Teamer, and/or are a former Software Engineer
Collaborative Spirit: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team
Agility and Adaptability: Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment with the ability to pivot and adapt as needed

What the job involves

As our Founding Security Lead you'll play a hybrid role contributing across security, product, research, and go to market
This is a unique opportunity to join as one of the first employees of a well-funded security startup building a product at the intersection of Generative AI and security
The focus of the role is on security research, whilst also looking after our internal security as we scale
Research: Continuously analyze the output of our AI models, creating feedback loops that improve the product and customer experience
Product: Work closely with founders, engineers, and AI researchers to define and build an innovative new security product
Internal Security: Develop our internal security programme and prepare us for scale
(Nice to Have) Develop the Brand: Write blogs, talk at events, and join the occasional customer call

The rise of Generative AI has further escalated this problem, making it easier than ever for attackers to launch advanced, large-scale cyber attacks.

This chaotic environment demands a new approach to security, and that's where Maze steps in. The company is building a next-generation security platform that leverages modern AI to revolutionise Vulnerability Management, a critical area where traditional solutions are falling short.

Unlike current tools that rely on pre-defined logic, Maze claims it will make smarter, faster decisions that reduce backlogs and focus resources on the vulnerabilities that truly matter. While it is still yet to launch, its offerings could be game-changing for security teams.
