- You have been a Program/Project Manager for an engineering or similar technical team for 3+ years, or you’ve been an engineer on those teams
- You have been working for an EHR provider or working on EHR integrations
- You have working knowledge of project management best practices and have experience working with related tools (i.e. Linear, Asana, JIRA, etc.)
- You have the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and handle competing deadlines
- You can work flexible hours to collaborate with our engineers in time zones as far away as Hong Kong and New Zealand
What the job involves
- We are looking for Technical Program Managers for the Engineering team to drive forward our integrations with external EHR systems
- You will work internally with our technology team, with third party clinical practices, and with our EHR partners to ensure that Clover Assistant meets physicians where they work and maximizes the impact that CA has on the healthcare industry
- Engage with our field teams to develop and facilitate the process to enroll third-party clinical practices in our EHR integrations
- Drive new EHR implementations by understanding the various approval processes with each partner and collaborating with internal stakeholders to build project plans, set timelines, implement features, and communicate with leadership
- Build relationships with our EHR partners to ensure smooth, ongoing management of our existing integrations, i.e. adding new features, testing/approving new app versions, and managing costs
- Understand the roadmap of our internal EHR team to assist in prioritization exercises and resource management
- Develop processes that allow internal engineers to start development quickly against multiple EHR environments
- Write EHR documentation for both internal and external stakeholders
- Help foster an EHR-first product mentality within the larger Tech organization
- Success in this role looks like:
- Driving increased adoption of Clover Assistant on EHRs across our provider network. You’re able to write playbooks to increase the speed of EHR setups. You’re able to understand common technical issues in order to either troubleshoot them yourself or gather enough details for our engineering team to investigate
- Being the point of contact that providers and EHR partners want to reach out to when they have an issue that needs to be addressed. You’re empathetic, understanding, positive, and a problem solver
- Developing strong relationships with your internal stakeholders Our Leadership team feels kept up to date about your work in flight along with challenges and risks. Our Engineering team understands the challenges you’re seeing in the field and feels confident that their solutions are making a positive impact on our members
- Managing smooth rollouts of new features in our EHR offering. Our Product team can depend on you to take their finished features and make sure they get approved by our various EHR partners. Our providers are aware of these features coming their way and know they can rely on you to take care of any issues quickly and effectively
Our take
Clover Health is a medical insurance company operating as a Preferred Provider Orgaization for Medicare Advantage, the Medicare plan for elderly American citizens. It aims to reduce the doctor-insurer friction to increase visibility into the health of patients.
Through its approach, Clover's physicians are able to focus on people, rather than paperwork. It has a patient-centered analytics and dedicated care management team, and thus is able to rapidly identify potential healthcare risks to provide preventative care. This helps to provide a more sophisticated level of care than existing providers, even if its market share is relatively slim compared to competitors like UnitedHealthcare and Humana.
Over the years it has performed well in a rapidly growing market, but in 2021 ran into issues with profitability in the market due to inefficient costings, an issue it is steadily nipping in the bud in 2023. However, the number of elderly Americans has doubled over the past 25 years, and the market is expected to do the same between now and 2025. This upward trend brings hope of revitalising the growth and strong financial performance Clover has seen in recent years, especially as it focuses more on profitability through 2023.
