Role
Who you are
- Bachelors degree(or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE or related software engineering roles
- Proficiency in at-least one modern programming language
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Working with public cloud infrastructure such as Azure, AWS, GCP
- Developing in, and building and deploying containers to production
- A modern orchestration and scheduling system such as Kubernetes
- Proficiency in relational and document databases. We are using MySQL, Postgres, Cosmos DB and MongoDB
- Building software in at least one programming language
- Designing and implementing tools to automate customer needs like CI/CD or deploying a new application
- Collaborating with Software Engineers to both improve engineering quality and accelerate development
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to help maintain and grow our tech platform that accelerates application engineers' productivity and operational excellence
- The Wonder Platform team enables the business grow through systems, tools, and process to: support correctness, improve operational, adopt scalable system designs, manage costs and improve engineering productivity
- As an engineer on Wonder's Platform team, you will participate in these outcomes by building infrastructure, providing customer support, and automation
- This work ultimately supports every area of our business, from the production of tens of thousands of meals daily, through to delivery to our customers. Your contributions in this area will help Wonder continue to innovate and grow
- Development platforms that enable application engineers to efficiently deliver tech solutions for business problems
- Well designed systems that can scale and adapt to fill new requirements
- Achieving operational excellence in your team's development lifecycle
- Integration and unit test coverage that gives you complete confidence to ship changes
- Automation and documentation to empower developers instead of dependency on devops

Our take
Food delivered to your door often gets cold and soggy as it travels in a courier's bag from the restaurant to your home. Using Wonder, customers order food from a mobile app, which is cooked in a truck right outside your door. It aims to improve the standard of home-delivered food, both the quality of product – working with world-renowned chefs – and the experience itself.
Wonder has received fair criticism surrounding poor environmental consideration, as each kitchen/van sits idle with the engine running whilst food is prepared. A study by the US Department of Energy found that banning the unnecessary idling of personal vehicles would be the same as taking 5 million vehicles off the roads.
Despite this, Wonder has sustainability strategies involving food sourcing, reducing food waste, sustainable packaging, and, notably, an emissions-neutral fleet. Wonder has received enormous funding, bringing it to a valuation of $7 billion, and the number of vans distributed across North America is expected to multiply exponentially.
