Who you are
- 4+ years experience working on complex products
- Experience with Fintech would be an advantage
- A strong portfolio with real examples of products you designed that have been shipped
- Worked with and contributed to design systems in Figma

What the job involves
- We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our growing design team
- Our product designers take ownership of a product, feature, or experience from ideation to production
- This includes research, wireframes, prototyping, the design team and developers to create and launch experiences used by thousands of our customers every day
- For this role we are looking for a Senior level Product Designer to take the lead on our core Bitfinex products and features across web and mobile working on cryptocurrency trading products
- You will report to the Head of Product Design and will:
- Drive the strategy and positioning of your product area
- Plan, scope, and create work that contributes to a long-term plan
- Communicate your ideas and work to your direct team and other teams
- Drive execution of your product area in its entirety, taking full ownership
- Work with our design systems to help define our design
- Scale your designs across multiple platforms and surfaces
Our take
Since its 2012 founding, Bitfinex has consistently been one of the world’s largest crypto exchanges, supporting over 150 currencies and offering multiple trading options. Its popularity is largely down to how user friendly it is for all levels of trader, from beginner to pro.
For all its popularity, it’s impossible to ignore the controversies the company has faced, along with its sister currency Tether. This includes hacking, a highly publicized settlement over an alleged $850 million loss cover-up, and its involvement in a shadow banking operation which landed the perpetrator 6 years in prison.
It’s also worth noting however, that bad press has dogged a lot of major players in the crypto world. Bitfinex’s supporters don’t seem to have been swayed by the headlines, and the company continues to move on. In 2022, it gained access to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), and the company is hoping to gain regulatory approval and licensing around the world.
