- This hands-on role demands an analytical, strategic thinker with expertise in customer, competitor, and market analysis, as well as strong skills in messaging, positioning, sales enablement, and content creation

What the job involves
- The PMM - GTM will drive the strategy and execution of Baseten’s end-to-end go-to-market (GTM) efforts for growth segments
- As a key member of the Product Marketing team, you will sit at the intersection of marketing, product, and sales, crafting and implementing playbooks to drive growth among new customer cohorts
- Drive definition and execution of the GTM strategy for target customer cohorts, including audience segmentation, use case prioritization, marketing plans and sales playbooks
- Identify and size market opportunities to align with Baseten’s growth goals and customer needs
- Help launch new products, programs, campaigns and initiatives to hit product, awareness, and revenue goals
- Ideate on PLG strategy and support activation and retention metrics
- Craft tailored messaging and positioning frameworks for target segments that highlight Baseten’s unique value proposition, focused on engaging technical (AI/ML practitioners) and business decision-makers
- Partner with the product team to ensure messaging aligns with the product roadmap and market trends
- Research and prioritize high-impact use cases across industries to drive adoption and differentiation
- Collaborate with customers to showcase real-world applications, creating case studies, whitepapers, and demo narratives
- Develop resources to empower the sales team, including playbooks, battle cards, objection-handling guides, and competitive analysis
- Train the sales team on product positioning and GTM updates to enhance alignment and success in the field
- Drive production of high-value content such as blogs, guides, videos, and webinars that drive demand and engage the target audience
- Ensure consistency across all marketing assets, aligning with the broader brand narrative
- Work closely with product, sales, and marketing teams to align efforts, drive pipeline growth, and inform product development with market insights
- Act as the voice of the customer to ensure the product and messaging meet user needs
- Contribute to marketing campaign ideation, execution, and measurement
- Leverage insights from customer feedback, market research, and competitive analysis to iterate on marketing, sales, and product strategies

As with its mathematical namesake, Baseten focuses on simplifying the complex. The San Francisco startup focuses on simplifying the integration of artificial intelligence into businesses. The tools that Baseten built demolish the need for businesses to hire specialised engineers, utilising the huge strides in artificial intelligence that we’ve seen in the last few years without adding workload to businesses.
With serious funding, Baseten plans to use its investment to expand its engineering and go-to-market teams. This is part of its focus on helping companies implement the tools that they have at their disposal, a long-overlooked aspect of machine learning that many businesses have been eager to champion, but uncertain on how to actually use.
Simplifying the complex world of artificial intelligence for business is no mean feat but the three founders, who met whilst working as engineers at Gumroad, have a lot of experience in how to navigate this gap in the market.
