Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of user research experience in a high-growth or fast-paced tech company
- Minimum 3+ years managing user researchers with a proven track record of developing talent and building high-trust teams at more than one company
- Proven experience in influencing cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders, including Product, Engineering, Learning, Delivery, and SLT
- Expertise in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Strong synthesis and storytelling skills, including the ability to create executive-ready summaries that land
- Experience using AI tools to speed up and scale research workflows without compromising quality and ethics
- A collaborative, systems-thinking mindset that drives clarity, quality, and curiosity across the product development lifecycle
- Deep belief in continuous learning and building a culture of evidence-based decision-making
Desirable
- Experience working in applied learning, coaching, or enterprise SaaS environments
- Worked with LLM engineers, prompt designers, or designed AI-native research tooling/workflows
- Experience setting up confidence-level scoring or ROI metrics to track research application and business impact

- We’re hiring a Senior Research Manager to lead and scale user research across the organisation
- You’ll own the cross-functional research function, ensuring every team—from Learning to Tech to Delivery—has access to powerful, actionable insights that are applied, not just generated
- You’ll report to the Director of Experience Design, and partner closely with 3 Product Directors and 2 Product Design Managers to embed research into decision-making at every level
- Lead high-impact, cross-functional research that directly shapes product and business strategy
- Build a unified, searchable, taggable insight repository that empowers teams to self-serve and trust research as a source of truth
- Ensure research insights are applied across the business—collaborating with Product Directors and Group Leads to influence roadmaps, priorities, and decisions
- Champion the voice of both customers and learners at the executive level, while supporting teams to take ownership of insight locally
- Establish and scale regular “User Connect Sessions” where product teams join customer calls and/or conduct lightweight research weekly
- Actively contribute to experience reviews, embedding customer insights in every journey and interface
- Run quarterly insight playbacks to surface the top customer and learner pain points that inform leadership priorities
- Operate as a 60:40 player-coach: drive insight work directly while building, managing, and mentoring a high-performing research team
- Support direct reports with clear development goals and timely, consistent feedback. Inspire and upskill the team with latest UXR thought leadership and best practice
- Continually raising the bar and quality of research at Multiverse through improved UXR ops and impact tracking
- Leverage AI tools to streamline research workflows—e.g. synthesis, tagging, pattern recognition—while maintaining rigour and ethics
- Enable non-researchers to confidently run foundational research and gather insight through training, coaching, and ops support
- Create and track research KPIs to show impact on business outcomes such as retention and CSAT

- Everything we do in the DEI space is undertaken with the goal of being representative of the geographies in which we operate – and our apprentice community. Gender diversity has been a long-term challenge for the tech world. We're proud that 55% of our UK Team identify as women, this increases to 64% of our Global Leadership Team (director level and above). We're also proud of our thriving LGBTQQIAAP community, comprising 11% of our UK Team.
- We're committed to improving the diversity of our workforce, at all levels. We continue to invest in early talent through our in-house apprenticeship scheme – something we know is a fantastic route into our organization for exceptional talent from a diversity of backgrounds.
- Last year we identified improving the diversity of our Global Leadership Team (director level+) internally as an area of focus.
