Who you are
- 1+ years of accounting or audit experience required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Basic knowledge of GAAP and SOX required
- CPA (or on track to be certified) strongly preferred
- Possess excellent attention to detail, organizational, problem solving, and prioritization skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Able to work under time pressure, prioritize a high workload, and meet strict deadlines
- Team player with a positive attitude and open mindset, not afraid to roll up your sleeves and work in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency in Excel, MS Office, and Google Workspace (e.g. Google Sheets and Slides) required
- Experience working with NetSuite and Salesforce a plus
What the job involves
- The Revenue Accounting team is looking for a Revenue Accountant to join our growing team
- You’ll have the unique opportunity to analyze and determine the accounting treatment for new revenue agreements and products, collaborate cross-functionally, and play a key role in developing and maintaining scalable revenue recognition processes
- The Revenue Accountant will own various revenue accounting close tasks and gain exposure to ad hoc initiatives and projects
- In keeping with Reddit values, the successful candidate in this role is someone who operates with an open mindset and “values the human” in all interactions
- This position reports to the Revenue Accounting Senior Manager and will work cross-functionally as a valuable member contributing to the Company’s continued growth and success
- What You’ll Do:
- Prepare month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly close deliverables
- Prepare monthly flux analysis for management review
- Prepare audit support for external and internal audits
- Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures & implementing internal control procedures (SOX) in areas of responsibility
- Establish effective relationships and work cross-functionally across the organization
- Drive process improvements and efficiencies for areas of responsibility
- Assist in any accounting-related system implementations
- Participate in special projects, analysis, and reporting as required by management
