Who you are

- Qualified candidates must be based in the greater London area
- UK HR generalist experience – you’ve operated at this level before and don’t need to be told how employment law works or why ER process matters
- A confident people-partnering style – senior leaders come to you because you’re useful, not because they have to; you coach rather than instruct, and you know the difference
- Operational range – you can manage a payroll cycle, a compliance tracker, and a live ER case at once without dropping detail
- Fluency with AI tools like Claude – you leverage them to streamline workflows, support documentation, and increase productivity
- HiBob experience – a plus, though not required
- Working knowledge of IR35/off-payroll rules in a multi-entity environment

What the job involves
- We’re looking for a hands-on People Partner to join our People Team during a fixed-term parental leave. Your work will directly impact continuity of employee relations, payroll accuracy, and contractor compliance across TodayTix Group and Secret Cinema
- This is a fixed-term contract role (17 August – 4 December 2026)
- Lead on employee relations – Coach managers through performance, conduct, and absence concerns, managing cases end-to-end with tight documentation so outcomes are clear and timely
- Advise on the employee lifecycle – Guide probations, role changes, and contract matters in strict alignment with UK law and TTG policy, keeping the business protected and compliant
- Own UK People Operations – Flag and action updates to the UK Employee Handbook and policies, and participate in onboarding and offboarding workflows across TTG and Secret Cinema
- Oversee UK payroll – Partner with the Global Payroll & Benefits Specialist and Finance to meet cutoff and resolve exceptions, keeping employees paid accurately and on time
- Maintain HiBob as the source of truth – Track and communicate headcount, absence, and org changes so the wider People Team always has accurate data
- Run IR35 and contractor compliance – Maintain HMRC CEST assessments (and coordinate QDOS determinations where needed), verify correct contractor classification, and keep the tracker and monday.com workflows audit-ready
- What Success Looks Like:
- Employee relations cases are closed cleanly → Performance, conduct, and absence cases are managed end-to-end with tight documentation, clear timelines, and no open or ambiguous items left at handback
- UK payroll runs without a miss → Every cycle hits cutoff and exceptions are resolved in partnership with the Global Payroll & Benefits Specialist and Finance
- Contractor compliance is always audit-ready → Every contractor and freelancer has a current CEST/QDOS determination, correct classification, and an up-to-date tracker
- Leadership stays informed with no surprises → Workstreams keep moving independently within agreed guardrails

Founded in 2013 by Broadway veterans Brian Fenty and Merritt Baer, TodayTix Group has grown to become a global eCommerce leader for cultural experiences. Aiming to connect a worldwide audience with theatre, opera and dance productions, to date it has sold over 70 million tickets to 200,000 shows listed on its platform.
While numerous ticket sellers exist, TodayTix was an innovator in this area, arriving at a time when mobile devices accounted for less than 1/1000th of all theatrical ticket sales. Standing out with its extensive tech stack including widgets, API and white label software for its partners, it is able to provide an excellent customer experience with a checkout process of less than 30 seconds. This has led to around 5% of all sales on Broadway being processed through TodayTix's platform today.
Since 2020, TodayTix has focused heavily on acquisitions, focusing on tech-forward, advertising, theatre and cultural event companies. These include Goldstar, Show-Score, Arthouse, Encore, and Broadway Roulette. TodayTix acquired Secret Cinema in 2022, growing its participation in the immersive film and television events space and strengthening its market-leading position in the entertainment industry.
